Jim got my car in quickly to replace the alternator and got the job done that day, which was good. He didn't call me to discuss the job before doing the work, which is standard to me, so there was no chance to discuss new/ refurbished parts or get a quote. He just called to say it was done, price ok for new parts. Technically ok job, personal service and communication NOT.

Been going to Borla's for over 15 years. Very satisfied with their work. Will work on a car till it's right while you have a cup of Green Mountain coffee.

Jim Borla is the star of the show. He is very competently assisted by Sue and Klaus at the front desk and a cast of characters in the repair bays. The service has always been top notch, the customer interface skills are very good. Jim and his crew will take the time to explain (in plain language) what the issues are, and why the repair is needed. Borla's Service Station has been in business since 1969 at the same location. Jim's dad started the business. There is a new member of the team, Jim's dog, Boston, is sometimes on site to greet customers. Loaners are no problem, pick-up and delivery is available, and special arrangements for off-hour needs can be accommodated. Drinks, snacks and newspapers are available if you want to wait, and there is a basketball hoop on site for the athletes in the crowd.

I started coming to Borla's on Route 4 in Torrington several years ago when my children were young and one of them broke the axle on my 84 Mazda 626, the excellent service I received back them has kept me coming back to Jim for many years. I have always recommended him whenever someone has any type of auto problems with their car. And now I have had several members of my family bring their cars to Jim. I feel so honored when I call up there and speak with Sue or Klaus and they know who I am and are always willing to help me and anyone that I send to them. When you find a decent and respectable business like this one you always want to hold on to them. There was one time I took my 94 Mazda 626 there because I thought something was wrong with my transmission, and once they looked at it they told me my transmission was fine and that I just needed a tune up on my car. I love the fact that I can take my car there and now that they are not just trying to pull one over on me. Keep up the GREAT work that you are doing and thank you for making me feel so special.

I purchased my Volvo from Jim a few years ago. It was the first car that I owned that was not a Ford or Chevy basic model. I was a bit tentative in purchasing a Volvo - I had heard that the maintenance bills could be quite high. Jim had done the service on the Volvo I was considering buying and assured me that the car had been well maintained. Jim's reputation in these parts is quite solid - while anything can happen to a car at anytime - I felt confident that purchasing this Volvo from Jim was a better option than going to a dealer I did not have confidence in, or buying from a total stranger selling a car in his/her driveway. Its been three years - love the car - no problems!
