I've dealt exclusively with Matt Bull for more than ten years. He's a master at keeping your car well maintained and in good running order. His diagnoses are quick and, most important, accurate. Matt and his fellow auto tech, Greg, are ASE certified-- Matt is a Certified Master Auto Technician. The shop is clean and has a no-nonsense atmosphere, but Matt and his employees are accessible and very friendly. Matt's greatest coup occurred when my sister gabe me a Dodge Colt Vista that would barely run. "If your mechanic is so good," she said, "let's see him fix this one." The Colt Vista had been with her mechanic for three days, at her husband's mechanic for another four, and at a Dodge dealership for yet another four, all without any diagnosis or any clue why it ran so badly. Matt had it for two days, pronounced the car's main computer dead, replaced it, and that Colt Vista stayed with me for another 100,000 miles until it died of terminal oil leaks. I cannot stress how much I trust this guy. When I bring my car in for service, it's always with instructions of, "Do whatever you have to do." If it's anything beyond a routine oil change or whatever I might have specified, he's always on the phone with a detailed diagnosis of what needs to be done-- along with a rock-solid estimate. This guy is gold.

I drive a 1996 Toyota Camry, in ok condition, that started to make a clunking noise in the back. Pep boys told me my car needed to have the front and back shocks replaced, costing 1400. I took it to Mattie's and while they said my shocks were worn, it was resonable, but not in need for replacement. They replaced my sway bar link ends and bushings, for a total of 330. So Pep Boys would have charge me the 1400 dollars, and said we still hear the noise, its going to total 1750. Plus, I left my car at Mattie's while i went into the city for the day. I was able to leave my keys before they opened, and the female addentant called me and fully explained the problem. They were very helpful and honest.

A++++ FAILED EMISSIONS, WENT TO 2 DIFFERENT SHOPS WITH CRAZY ESTIMATES, WAS TOLD TO "GO SEE MATT!" AND I DID. LITERALLY 30 SECONDS LATER HE HAD IT FIXED! EVEN THOUGH THE PHONE WAS RINGING OFF THE HOOK AND CUSTOMERS IN AND OUT HE TOOK THE TIME TO LISTEN TO MY PROBLEM AND PERSONALLY TOOK A LOOK AT IT. HE FOUND A CRACKED HOSE WHICH HE CUT BACK AND THE CAR CAME BACK TO LIFE IN SECONDS! HE IS AWSOME I HAVE NEVER HAD THAT TYPE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE BEFORE FROM ANYWHERE ESPECIALLY A AUTO REPAIR SHOP. AND AS FAR AS HIS SHOP YOU CAN EAT OFF THE FLOORS ITS SO CLEAN, ITS AMAZING THEY FIX CARS IN THAT PLACE!

I called Mattie's because my front end started growling on a vacation trip. They were able to take the car the day I called, repaired it the same day and held it several days -- over the 4th of July -- until I returned from NYC. I knew the problem was likely a front wheel bearing, but Mattie's techs spent a lot of time trying to isolate the failure to one side (vs center support bearing or a transmission bearing). Ultimately they replaced both front wheel bearings because the ultrasonic test equipment indicated both sides were making noise (the hubs were quiet on the lift). Mattie's had agreed to provide me a ride to the train station, but after chatting with a customer picking up their vehicle, the customer took me to the train station. They were very good about communicating the options and prices and the final bill matched the estimate. I considered my treatment to be outstanding.

Went here for the first time (Based on this site) to help a friend nearby with his car. They got the repair done in less than an hour, despite ordering parts, price was good, and seemed like a good place. I would go back if in the area.
