Marty is Great! I actually found him using the Car Talk web site a couple of years ago. Just an old style mechanic. Got so tired of taking my car to folks who don't actually know anything about cars. If it doesn't give them a code they don't know where to begin. Marty's isn't like that at all. This guy knows cars. Not just one or two makes either. He's worked on my '87 BMW 325IS and my '99 Ford Windstar. He even lets me bring in my own parts. One of the few shops I really trust in this area.

This is a family shop run by Marty-Senior & Junior and wife Linda. I have been taking my cars there for service for over 15 years. They have always been honest in their repairs and fair in their pricing, and have fixed simple things for free. I finally gave away my 1978 Toyota Celica (269,000 miles-it ran excellent, but the body was rusting from beneath) and bought a 1998 Lexus ES300. The first winter I experienced a noise when the fan was turn on. Thinking it was a mechanical problem, I brought it to the dealor. I was changred $100.00 to clean out a mouse nest. Months later I had a little bird seed coming out of the duct work of the car. (I park my car in the garage next to the bird seed.) When I brought my car in to Marty's for an oil change, they cleaned out the nest for free.

I was the person who originally recommended this family-run garage, but my review was not posted. Therefore, I am submitting this review with hope that it will get posted this time. I have also sent an email trying to correct the omission of both my first review and their street address: Marty's Service Center 326 Middlefield Street Middletown, CT 06457 Hope this works, they deserve it! Thanks, Diane Mozdziesz

My wife and I have been takeing our Hondas to Marty's Service center for over 15 years. We have not had any problems at all with them. I will continue to recommend them to my friends.

Totally trustworthy and professional. The vast majority of Marty's customers are regulars who wouldn't let anyone else work on their cars.

I've used them only once, but they did a terrific job and I'm planning to use them throughout my time here in Middletown, where I'm a Wesleyan student.

Marty and his son have both provided excellent service. They are good at diagnosing issues and my car was always fixed correctly the first time. I have been going to them for two years and I have always been happy with the service they've provided.

My wife and I have taken our cars to Marty's for over a year. We highly recommend him. I first went to Marty's when my Wife's Hyundai started making loud grinding sounds from the brakes. Instead of telling us we needed new brakes all around, he only replaced what was necessary -- the pads and shoes on the front. Instead of paying $600 to $800 at the dealer, we only had to pay $250. We've been loyal ever since.

I went to my local dealership and was told I needed 1500$ worth of repairs. I took it to Marty's, and they fixed the immediate problem of a radiator leak for 200 and recommended 500 more in repairs that they explained fully, but did not force on me. Needless to say I will be going back soon. Reasonable prices, honest mechanics.

We found Marty a few years ago via the Car Talk web site, and have been completely happy with him ever since. Marty has worked on my 2000 VW Beetle as well as my husband's 2004 BMW 325i wagon, and had done a variety of repairs for us including exhaust, suspension and engine. He continues to surprise us with his reasonable rates and honesty. Several times I have expected my car to need much more work at much greater cost than has turned out to be the case with Marty. I definitely recommend Marty's.
