Bloomfield Garage is a family-owned general repair shop that has been in business since 1924. John Politis heads an experienced crew of mechanics, most of whom have been with the shop for many years. John's wife Joan runs the front office. I have been having my cars repaired at the shop for almost 30 years. They've taken care of a variety of makes, both foreign and domestic, as I've moved from from Toyotas in the '70's to a Crown Victoria today. The shop has moved from generation to generation without a hitch. John's nephew and son-in-law have been part of the team for several years now, and I've see no change in the quality of repairs that I've consistently received over the years. Highly recommended ...

I've been bringing 4 different types of cars to the Politis' for the past few years and have even bought 2 cars there. I trust them implicitly and recommend them whole-heartedly !

I had some complicated and expensive problems. They are honest and explain exactly what's going on. They also stood behind their work - in the case where their first repair didn't fix the problem, they credited it against the next repair.

Old fashioned, honest, competent, reasonably priced service.

Competence depends on the mechanic. Some are vague, unresponsive, and incompetent. They would provide repairs without my permission and charge me on the high end for them. $500 for basic brake job. Some mechanics there are great and take the time with you. I found their work to vary in quality greatly. Usually they can fit you in and at times are quite helpful. I just hate that im usually ambushed with huge bills with vague and incomplete answers. And worst of all, i felt like i overpaid several times with barely satisfactory work.
