Mechan-X-Files was where I first heard of these guys, actually. I had hit a curb, and since my Celica wasn't too road-safe I needed someplace close. Fortunately, these guys were fairly close, and I had my car back within 24 hours (after I acquired the part that I needed). They sublet it for some allignment work, but all together I would say their price was reasonable. I would definitely recommend them.

These guys did some brake work for me. Explained everything, charged a reasonable amount, and did it on time. You know you can trust them, cause they had a dog laying around the office.

We have been going to Manitou Auto Service for years now. We even moved out of Manitou and continue to take our vehicles in to Charles & Joan, the husband and wife team who own the garage. Always honest, always timely (which is a small miracle because they are ALWAYS busy). They never pull any punches when it is one of those "you're done for" problems with your car but they always make it seem less painful. They even worked on my unfortunate 1972 Toyota Corona Mark II station wagon that nobody else would touch. (can you blame them?) Their team has extensive knowledge of modern and "vintage" cars, I wouldn't hesitate to bring a brand new car in for warranty service or an old one that needs carburetor repairs. They've driven us home on many occasions and once they noticed that we left the lights in our truck in front of our house and went back to the garage to call and let us know! They've also managed to keep my 180K Mighty Max on the road at a reasonable price. You can't go wrong.

Charles and Joan are real people, locals in a small town, honest, and very easy to work with. I found them a couple years ago and have been using them for maintenance on all 3 of our family vehicles. I went there the first time, with a laundry list of repairs suggested by another garage and played a little dumb to see what they would suggest. (I am not a mechanic but I know enough about cars and trucks to know when I'm about to be ripped off) Charles laughed at some of things the other company suggested and presented what I thought to be a fair estimate of which repairs were actually necessary. It's nice to have a trustworthy mechanic in town, and I would recommend them to anyone.
