  • I am quite certain that this is the type of shop Tom and Ray had in mind when talking about the quintessential independent shop, save one thing. That is these guys can build you a race car right along side taking car of your family Subaru. Apparently, these guys got into doing performance work after Subaru released the WRX and STi machines. It was funny seeing the little old lady bringing her Subaru Legacy wagon in for an oil change, along side the young guys coming in to check on the progress of their engine builds or just to seek guidance from the gurus. From their website: About Metro PerformancE: Metro Performance is a family owned facility located in Lakewood CO, just outside of Denver, specializing in Subaru performance parts, installation, fabrication, maintenance, and repair. Our shop covers a little over 3700 sq feet, and have been in the same location for 26 yrs. We have over 30+ years experience in Subarus and other manufacturers. Whether you just need an oil change, or someone to help you build your next big race car project, rest assured Metro Performance has got you covered. Not only can we help you get it done RIGHT, but we can help you get it done right THE FIRST TIME! Today Dan, the younger of the father son duo, did some technical service work required by a Subaru technical service bulletin on my Baja turbo. The job was completed on time, at a very reasonable rate, and I was absolutely thrilled to find small town service in a big town (Denver) shop. Try them and you will never take your Subaru back to the dealer. I promise.
