Great Experience. I had driven my car to Colorado from New Jersey and developed brake problems. Using the the second recommendation of this database maintained by CARTALK.COM (see Terrible Experience, Cherry Creek Auto for my first), I went to their shop. After convincing them to take my car, they diagnosed the vehicle quickly, ordered the parts we needed and got us on our way in under a day. They did not take advantage of our status as visitors (ok, tourists), and charged us a great rate for a repair done within a day, near downtown Denver, and on a foreign car. I heartily recommend them.

Some years ago I first recommended Comprehensive Car Care to you. I noted that they stood by their repair guarantee and offered good value to the customer. How many shops rebuild starter motors instead of replacing them? In my most recent visit I was just getting an oil change. The mechanic spotted, how I don't know, that the right inner tie rod end was wearing and recommended immediate replacement. He made sure that I understood the problem (the play in the wheel could barely be felt) and its danger. Comprehensive got the part, made the repair, and had the car ready for me by 1pm. The part cost $36; the labor $96. How many Jiffy Lubes or Grease Monkeys would find such a problem? Some shops are honest. Some shops are competent. Comprehensive is both.

Comprehensive kept by 1985 Toyota Tercel 4x4 alive for over 300,000 miles and almost 20 years of hard use. Unfortunately, black ice and a guard rail did the car in. The day the car was sent to the crusher it was still in perfect mechanical condition thanks to these guys.

I've been entrusting my beloved '89 Toyota pickup to Joe and the rest of the crew at Comprehensive Car Care since I bought the truck in the summer of 2001. I actually found them on the Car Talk website when I moved to Denver that same summer. I have been continuously amazed by the techs' ability to diagnose any and all problems I've encountered with my truck, from minor annoyances to a nearly disastrous timing belt incident. These people mean business when a concern arises. ALL repairs, whether routine or unexpected, have been handled quickly, honestly, and perhaps most important, correctly. Once you meet Joe, he'll probably never forget your name, or your vehicle--even if you don't see him for months. I always feel as if I'm treated with respect as a customer, though welcomed as a friend whenever I enter the door of the shop. In short, I simply think the world of the crew at Comprehensive Car Care and recommend them whenever I get the chance. They are the finest mechanics I've ever encountered, no question. --Dave Andrews
