Honest, and often don't charge to check things out like brakes. For instance, told me my brakes were fine after another shop said I needed them done. They kept checking them as I came in for oil change, etc., and then told me when I should have them done.

We drive 15 miles each way to have our two cars serviced by these wonderful mechanics.

We live in Davis where there are several places that service imports, but we always take our Honda and Toyota to Master Tech. (Actually, we once took our Toyota to a local dealer....big mistake!)

Rich is an honest man, and a great mechanic. Over the years he has taken care of one Honda and two Toyotas. He does seem to be much more comfortable working on Hondas, but I have never had any problems with bad/unnecessary repairs.

I called the owner, Rich, on a Saturday (late morning) to ask him if he could install a front wheel bearing. He was very truthful in his conversation with me and told me that, if I could get the part that day, he would likely be unable to get the job done in time without holding his mechanics over. When I told him I was interested in purchasing a non Honda part, he was honest and told me that many aftermarket bearings wear out prematurely. Without making an appointment, I call him back and asked him if he would install the new bearing during the morning. He told me to come on down and got the work done sooner than quoted. He charged me the price quoted and noted that I might need to do additional work on the vehicle. I watched him supervise his shop and he personally inspected many of the vehicles before releasing them to their owners.
