I've had my 2003 Golf TDI serviced at Kombi Haus for it's 40K and 50K regular maintenance. I'm planning on bringing it in this summer for some "real" maintenance work (front end bushings and whatnot) so can't answer a couple of the stock questions yet but, I'm assuming that the repairs will be as good as the minor maintenance. The guys are friendly, cool and have answered my questions honestly (I'm a woman who goes to the shop alone). They did not pressure me to deal with the squeaky front end nor did they try to scare me into having the work done. I've had the opposite experience at other shops so, I'm pretty sensitive to that type of pitch. They have completed the work sooner than estimated and the final bill was the same as the estimate. It looks like they are as comfortable with vintage as late models so, for you retro folks, considering giving them a holler.

Kombi Haus is excellent! I looked them up after having several rotten experiences with a local VW dealer. Not only were they able to schedule my brake work quickly, but the price they quoted was at least $50 cheaper than the dealer's estimate. They work on all model years of VW's, and the guys are cool to boot. Today, they replaced the rear brake pads & rotors on my 2005 Jetta, and it's working beautifully! Plus, the final cost was the same as the estimate provided - to the penny. If you live in the Sacramento area and you have a V-dub, please give Kombi Haus your business!

These are some of the best guys in town to bring your air-cooled VW to. They're not cheap, but they do quality work with quality parts, stand behind their work, and have their own body shop. They've treated my '71 bus well.
