I have been taking my vehicles to this shop for repair and smog checks for over 10 years. The owners are very client oriented. They send "thank you" letters for referrals, reminders for oil changes and basic maintenance and will call you after your car has been picked up to see if you are satisfied with the job. I have always have had a good experience and felt I was being treated fairly and honestly.

They fixed my car fast and efficently. My only problem is their price. For an indpendent mechanic they usually are cheaper than the dealership. Not the case in this repair of my tensioner, they charged me 200 dollars more than Saturn would have. I was shocked that their labor costs were $98 an hour, over that of a dealership and their after market part was higher priced than the factory one. I trust their judgement and their service was fair, they just need to be more competitively priced.

I went to Scotty's Auto Repair for a smog certificate and ended up paying a total of $333.31. Of this amount, $244.09 was charged for Labor. I ended up paying for a fuel induction service and finally the smog certificate for registration purposes. I felt the pricing for services was extremely high. But overall, I was very happy with their EXCELLENT customer services the front office staff provided. This business seems to be operated by family members who were very kind, had fun stories and truly went above most mechanic shops in the customer service areas. They gave me a ride home since my car would not be completed for a few hours. Called me at home with an update on my vehicle problem(s) and the associated costs. When my car was ready, I was called again to let me know they were driving back to my home to pick me up. This was truly excellent service! I feel confident the mechanic who worked on my car is very knowledgeable. He explained my car issues and also discussed regular maintenance activities to complete in the future. He told me the dash lights may of come on recently ... and I said "Yes" it was yesterday. This shop cares about their customers and regularly send emails as reminders to have specific areas inspected before an issue occurs. I would highly recommend this shop to others for services ... just be prepared for the bill.
