I had taken my Subaru to the Livermore Subaru service department and they couldn't figure out what was causing the check engine light to come on after two visits and other things about them sucked. They were only open M-F 8- 3, I had to wait till the service rep showed up, then I had to sit there 5 minutes while they were doing something else, then they made me move my car up so they can take information off it, then they ask me what's wrong but can't understand since they don't know much about cars and then when I pick it up they have to relay what the mechanic said but can't answer specific questions, and also they have premium prices. So I took my car to Rick's after I got their frigerator magnet from them at the farmer's market and it said they specialize in Subarus and other imports. Rick immediately knew what was causing the error code, made the repair, took it for a test drive and the check engine light did not come back on. He also made preventative maintenance suggestions with no pressure that seemed reasonable. It was the most wonderful mechanic experience I've ever had. Their lobby is clean and behind the long counter is the entire garage which is immaculately clean and all in order. This is like the In- N-Out of mechanics, if you know what I mean. If you feel like your mechanic might be taking advantage of your naivite, I say make a visit to Rick's and see for yourself. They also have a flat screen, if you don't have anywhere you need to be. :)

Simply put, this is a great place to get your car worked on if you are looking for honest and competent. Thanks for the great work Rick!

I have been taking my vehicles to Rick's for 27+ years. That says it all.
