Tom Perry has been working on my cars for almost 20 years at this & a previous location and I have never been disatisfied with his service. His fund of car knowledge (for many makes & models)is impressive! He gives advice and options, depending on how urgent the problem or potential problem might be and/or how long you might plan to keep the vehicle. He is competent & honest and I recommend him and his mechanics highly.

I'm female and typically get ripped off with auto mechanics. I had an amazingly wonderful and honest experience with Nohr's. I was told by a dealership that it would cost almost $700 to fix some problems on my car (front motor mount replaced and a new resonator) and that they had to be done immediatly or dire things would happen. I called Nohr's, explained the problems and got an estimate over the phone! I was quoted that it would cost about $200(!), but (and here's the good part) they recommended that I not get my muffler replaced at Nohr's, becuase it would be cheaper for me to get it done at a muffler place! Amazing! A repair shop that really looks out for the customer. I am 100% going to get my other repair and other needed service done by Nohr's. Their honesty and quick service saved me $500 today. Fantastic.

Obviously, I'm sold on these guys after 20 years of using them. An example--last summer, after working on the filters of my catalytic converter, my engine light went on and the computer was showing problems with the exhaust again. Tom looked around for a rebuilt or reasonably priced part. He thought he had one that turned out not to be right for my car. He concluded I was stuck with a replacement from Toyota for $1700 and frankly said I might want to get another car since my 9 year old car might develop other problems. For all of this help, I paid nothing!

I'm a complete auto-idiot (sometimes I even turn Car Talk off if the calls get too technical). When the check engine light came on in my 96 Camry, I found Nohr's on this website. Their staff were very friendly, clear about what my costs would be for the diagnostic, and then called clearly explaining what was wrong with my car (giving me the range of possible work needed). They did the work and updated me twice during the day. The next morning, when I went to pick-up the car, he suggested some other possible future maintenance, but didn't pressure me at all to have the work done. Nohr's was great - I've found a San Leandro mechanic!

Tom is more honest than the longest day. He also goes beyond the extra mile for his clients. I would recommend Nohr's to everyone!

If your car is your baby or if your car transports your babies, these are the people for you. If you want to go to someone you trust from the first moment and will leave with your questions answered and not feel like an idiot, go to them. If you want your car fixed well the first time: Nohr's. I don't understand how the other reviewers wrote such great things about them yet only gave them 4 stars. I'd give them 10 if possible. Sure, it's expensive to do anything in the bay area, but what's expensive is going to a cheapo or dishonest place and having to end up at an excellent place like Nohr's to have it honestly and safely done. Nohr's was recommended to me recently, I've had several things fixed there, and I cannot give them enough praise. As a woman, these things are important to me: Nohr's is in a safe neighborhood, they have a separate, clean bathroom for women, they have a clean, safe, warm and comfortable waiting area. They are easy to find. They are close to BART and other public transportation. They leave my car cleaner than they found it. They talk to me, and not down to me, even if it takes them 5 different ways until we're speaking the same language because I don't know much about cars except I want mine to be working well, and I get this from Nohr's. Tom, Cecelio, Carlos, Troy and the others are so helpful and polite and kind...and work their butts off. Customer service and good, solid work at its best.

When my mechanic of many years closed up shop, I asked around for recommendations for a new place to take my Subaru. My neighbors almost all recommended that I go to Nohr's. I gave them a try and immediately realized why people spoke so highly of them. Tom and Cecelio, the owners, are really nice guys, honest, willing to explain things and very fair. They never recommended unneeded repairs, and stand behind their work. In this day and age, it can seem impossible to find a mechanic you can trust. Nohr's is a place you can trust.
