Adam has worked on my car 4X+. One time it needed nothing and he charged nothing to tell me so. Another time it was a minor and easy fix that could easily have been lied about into major job by another mechanic. All other work has been done on time and at reasonable cost and correctly. He always calls to discuss price, etc. after he looks at the car so there are no surprises. This guy is very competent and seems very honest in his work. I wish I had found this shop five years ago when my VW first began to need repairs. This is a bare bones one man shop, so don't plan to hang around while he works on your car. There's no coverage when he goes to lunch or anyone else to pickup the phone so don't be discouraged if he doesn't pick up right away. I've always come in by myself and he treats women respectfully. My husband has been happy with all Adam's work (my husband worked extensively on VW Jetta's and several Alfa Romeo's, but refuses to do anything on my Passat

Adam is really honest, and does work for a VERY reasonable price. His critical and creative thinking to resolve an electrical problem after my car flooded saved me hundreds of dollars.

I've been taking my VW Pasaat to Adam for about five years now and he has done a superb job on it every time at extremely reasonable prices. Before I found Adam, I had always gone to factory dealerships for service and the work that he does compares favorably. In fact, he does a better job than the dealership shops. I couldn't believe how smoothly my 2000 Pasaat ran after the first time he worked on it. The only critical thing I can say about Kirkwood V.W. is that Adam doesn't fantastic at doing the car owner education thing with you, but if you think it's because he doesn't care or doesn't know what he's talking about, you'd be wrong. He's just not a very talkative guy. If you ask questions, he'll tell you everything you want to know. If you don't need to get lavished with ambassadorial treatment like a free car wash and a courtesy car, you can get top notch service for any model of VW (including diesel and biodiesels) for less than half the price of what the dealership shop will charge you. If you absolutely need to get that car wash to feel respected, there's one next door. Go get it done yourself and pocket the very significant difference.

Honest opinions, less expensive than I expected. Great garage, if you have a VW then take it here.
