Besides being scrupulously honest and very competent, Angus will always tell you what wrong with the car, all your options and what he would do if it were his car. Often he'll tell you to wait until it's worth doing a repair. He's very good about doing what's right for you.

These are smart literate berkeley type mechanics. They are honest, easy going, and always know what's wrong. They always fix everything right the first time, explain it thoroughly, and go the extra mile to keep you a loyal customer. Their files are always up to date and at hand when you walk in (better than my internist). They treat me respectfully, as if I can understand what they are saying, (I'm a woman), and they have things done quickly and when they say they will. Once I took my old car in to ask them to tell me what I should sell it for to my babysitter. Angus said that if I liked her I should show her the repair record, give her an estimate of what was on the horizon in terms of anticipated repairs, and not ask more than a dollar.

Angus is always ready to explain to you the hows and whys of the particular problem you car is experiencing at the moment and tell you how he is going about to fix it. Always tells you what needs to be done immediately, and what should be done to keep the car going but is not of primal importance at the moment.

Angus & co. at Oceanworks are phenomenal! They're not the cheapest in town, but getting the work done right the first time is always cheaper in the long run... They are great, smart, polite, and funny!

Angus has worked on the last three cars that I've owned - a VW Rabbit, a Mazda 626, and a Toyota Camry. I first brought in my Rabbit after the dealer had messed it up. It was a difficult problem to diagnose, but Angus and crew stuck with it, and didn't charge for all of the hours spent in diagnosing it - they were committed to finding the root of the problem, and did. With my Mazda, Angus recommended at about 100K miles, that it was time to consider replacing it with a new car - that if I held onto it, it would only begin to have more serious problems. He was spot on, and I replaced it with the Camry, which has been trouble free, thanks in part to Angus gently encouraging me to change the oil on a regular basis. As others have commented, Angus presents you with all your options, enabling you to make an informed choice. The only disagreement we have ever had is over my 4 cylinder Camry - I say its under-powered, he says it isn't. We've finally agreed that it is 'adequately' powered.
