Steve doesn't even charge me for small things, and doesn't ask for payment until a job is done even if I take the car home overnight. Easy to be with. Good attitude toward life!

THIS IS ONE OF THE FINEST GASOLINE, REPAIR AND SERVICE SHOPS IN CALIFORNIA. IT IS A LONGTIME RUN FAMILY OPERATION THAT IS RUN WITH INTEGRITY, HONESTY AND TOTAL COMMITTMENT TO THE COMMUNITY. THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE LAST INDEPENDENTS OF ITS KIND, WHERE THE CUSTOMER AND SERVICE COME FIRST. THE OWNERS GO THE EXTRA STEP. WITHOUT ANY RESERVATION WHATSOEVER, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE SERVICE PROVIDED BY THE CARVALHO FAMILY.

The exact opposite of all the mechanic stereotypes. Honest, up-front, reasonable, and friendly. I recommend them over anywhere else.

My big 89 Olds station wagon gives me plenty of reasons to visit a mechanic. Steve and the crew at Bridgeway (gas station and repairs) have been great to work with. They will take a quick look to see if they can fix something on the fly (a good thing because they are usually booked for a few weeks in advance.) So often I have been expecting a budget- busting price tag and they have come back with a price far less than I anticipated. If it is a specialty job out of their range they have referred me to honest and reasonably priced specialists. And they have been generous with advice on how to keep this car in good health and thus avoid seeing too much of them. It is a family business - 54 years. Steve and his parents are there all the time - note that they close relatively early for an urban gas station and they aren't open Sundays or holidays.

I second the high recommendation for Bridgeway Service. I have been taking my car to them for routine maintenance ever since I was referred to them by a friend. They are always honest, and they charge reasonable fees. Even when I have come in to their shop convinced that I need a major repair, they have discouraged me from paying for unnecessary work. They have a great cat, too.

Very nice, reasonable, and they appreciate the run-down-car owner. Very reasonable prices - they did a number of tests on my overheating car and charged only $35 to prounounce the death sentence. I subsequently brought in a used car I was interested in buying for them to check out, which they did for free! I found them because of this site, and I further the many positive reviews.

I brought my vehicle in for two simple preventive maintenance items, but I was more impressed w/ their work than any dealer shop I've been too. This is a very well run shop. The garage is clean, neat and orderly. Tools are properly stowed and the floor is kept clear of debris. You might ask "what the heck does that have to do w/ maintaining the car?" but it has everything to do with it. It means this shop knows what attention to detail means and that the mechanics are well trained, disciplined and careful. I would not hesistate to bring any car here in the future.

They make adjustments--at least once they know you--so that you can deliver car or pick up car and make payments as fits your schedule. They give advice as they would to someone in their family and you know that it is never based on what benefits their own pocketbook.

Steve is fabulous... I found Bridgeway on this site, and went there with my Mazda Miata...which they've kept in good running order ever since (and it's got well over 100,000 miles) They never charge me when I stop by with something little or a question. They will fit me in for an emergency repair... they're fair. And Steve is DEFINITELY always good for a restaurant review :) Enjoy...
