Biehl's specializes in air cooled Volkswagens, and other older foreign cars, including BMW, Porsche, and Toyota. Rich Biehl is the owner, but all of the mechanics he employs are excellent. They treat my Karmann Ghia with love and respect and have made time for me when I was in town and just dropped in for a tune up. I drive over the Mingus Mountains to take my car to these guys and it is worth the trip.

We've been Rich's customers since he was located in the crummy old garage and Rocky, his dog, was his assistant. We had two VW buses he worked on. The '72 was a great little bus, but the '85 was a lemon from the word go. It seemed like every time we went on even a short one-day trip, we'd have to have that vehicle towed back to Rich's garage. So when he'd come in on Monday morning and see that bus sitting on the street, he'd know we tried to take a little relaxing vacation!

Rich Biel (the owner) has worked on my car for free, he has never tried to sell me anything I did not need, and he treats men and women customers the same. He takes the time to educate me about the problem and the possible solutions and let's me decide what I want to do. The work he has done on my car is of the highest quality. PS: another CarTalk listner recommended this same shop but misspelled the name and did not provide an address.

Rich Biel and his mechanics have worked on all of our vehicles for the 25 years we have lived in Prescott. All I can say is, "Thank God for Rich and his employees." They are absolutely the best. Paul Dunn

Rich Biel and his mechanics did excellent work on my car. Traveling from Flagstaff, my Honda CRX broke down with a damaged timing belt. I had no knowledge of the local car repair shops, and a friend in town recommended Biel's. Damn good recommendation! Rich Biel cares about customer service, and was kind enough to give me a loaner cellphone so I could keep in touch throughout the day, and even offered me a loaner car. Rich and Chris worked overtime to get the car repaired and out of the shop that same day. They really know their vehicles. They are also honest, and never tried to scam me as an out-of-town customer. If you're not sure which mechanic to see in Prescott, I absolutely recommend these guys. They are courteous, honest, and know their stuff.

Had work done changing transmission fluid. A few days later, the car started to leak transmission fluid. Not totally surprised since the car is 20 years old. Even though the day I called was full, they told me to bring the car in. When I said that I had no transportation, they took the car in immediately, located the leak and fixed it. They are very responsive to customer needs. Also, they have been here for decades, so they must be good and dependable. Highly recommended!

I brought it in twice, and when they couldn't fix it the first time, they didn't charge me. When they figured out what was the problem and it was more expensive to fix than it was worth, they advised me not to fix it.

I have been taking my Subaru WRX to Biels for the last 3 years, and more frequently over the past year. They are always professional and are able to fit me into the schedule, even when I call or stop by the same day. They even fixed my breaks for me when I stoped by on a Friday afternoon at 3pm, and had them done while I waited. They have replaced my timing belt, A/C, wheel bearings, breaks etc. All maintence and repairs have always been completed in a timely manner and they have always done everything they could to make the major repairs stay within a fair price range. I take my car there for every oil change just because they also take a look at the car and let me know if there are any concerns that need to be addressed. In the last "check up" they even recomended that I get new tires, something they didnt benefit financially from. Marcy is always professional when I call and even takes the time to explain the repairs necessary, diagnose noises I hear and even provide rides when I need to drop off my car. Chris, my mechanic is always great at my repairs and takes the time to explain why the repairs are necessary.

These guys replaced the clutch in my 02 Mini Cooper. They dug deep to find the root of the problem and found a previously damaged part. Had they not found this problem, my new clutch would have lasted only a short time. Not only that, after I picked up my car, the clutch cable gave out and they paid for towing my car back to the shop to replace that cable!!! They really went above and beyond. Very nice people, honest and hard workers. I highly recommend this shop!
