Went in for mount and balance 4 tires, a REAL ALIGNMENT JOB and inspection. Tom the alignment guy took time to explain how he would align the 1997 VR6 Passat wagon to better than new condition. A pre-work inspection reveaed wear on the 108k mile ball joints so they had to go. I have faith in these guys because Craig & Tom then explained that a 97 Passat B4 uses less costly ball joints then the B5 and later models. Picked up the car and drove away happy that the vehicle had new tires properly mounted and balanced and that I now have a vehicle in top alignment. She is riding on rails. Had three other shops including a DEALER blow alignments before. Not Tom. He is TOPS!

My family and I have used Coffin's Garage for years. They can work on all of the domestic models, and I see plenty of people with Toyotas and Hondas there as well. They can do anything from your basic oil change to replacing a transmission. He has a great crew - some of his guys are young, but he also has some grizzled veterans who have a lot of experience with older models as well. This shop has the ringing endorsement of my mother, which I think speaks volumes about the way they treat their customers. Craig, the service writer, has been there for years. He is an experienced mechanic himself, and he'll really take the time to explain things to you in a straightforward manner. He never talks down to you. If your car needs an expensive part, he'll give you options (reman. versus new, etc.). He doesn't just automatically try to make you buy the most expensive part. All in all, just a good, honest, independent shop.
