We have used Ted's shop for three years now and can't say enough about how happy we are with his work. He has performed routine maintenance and also troubleshooting and diagnosis for the sorts of mystery issues that are not unheard of with Audi's and VW Touaregs. Parts cost and the complexity of some of these things make for bills that are not always small, but I have always felt Ted was very credible and reasonable. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, like you don't see much any more. Today I called about a stumble, he asked a few questions, and said, "Sounds like an ignition coil -- you don't want to let that go -- bring it in when you can." I took it in an lunch and it was done by 3! And his shop was full of cars when I dropped it off. And the shop -- it's always immaculate! Looks like a lab, or a showroom -- inspires a lot of confidence. Nice guy, great business.

Ted has filled a niche that the Portland area was so much in need of - an excellent German car mechanic. His diagnostic ability is exceptional, work superb, and he takes the time to explain everything and discuss repair options and strategy. His estimates are accurate and repair price very reasonable. He goes the extra distance to make sure you are completely satisfied with his work. He takes pride in what he does, as he should, and is always professional. To be honest I have never visited a shop or met a mechanic quite like Ted. To boot, my wife thinks he is terrific too.

I met Ted right adter he opened up his shop, and decided to give him a "test run" with my Saab. While Saab's aren't his every day type of targeted car, his overall automotive knowledge is readily apparent. Additionally, he has taken the time to research items that are specific to my vehicle. In short, he comes well recommended.

I am a friend of Ted's and a fellow car/racing enthusiast, so I've been following Precision Autoworks with interest. Ted's automotive knowledge and ability, ethics, and personality make him perfect for the garage business. His garage is very clean, orderly, and well-appointed. Ted is an outstanding troubleshooter, and will discuss repair/upgrade options at length and in detail. He is meticulous with his cars, and treats his customers' cars like they were his own. I didn't hesitate to have Ted work on my own car - he researched, purchased and installed urethane motor mount inserts. While he was under it, he did a front-to-back inspection and noticed an O2 sensor wire that was contacting the half-shaft (which the dealer missed in their recent work). When he was done, he went on a test- drive with me and discussed the results, while monitoring my car's diagnostic system on his palm pilot. So, as a car enthusiast, a technology enthusiast, a neat freak, and someone who demands good service, I highly recommend Precision Autoworks!

Ted did a great job at a very reasonable price. He was very good at giving me all the facts and options. And he kept me updated regulary on the progress. I have not had any issues with my car since he fixed the leaking rear main seal issue. One happy customer here. Nice to have a mechanic I trust to do the job right and not overcharge for his services!

Very thorough and clean work. I feel extremely comfortable that I'm getting fair and honest work. If there is a better place (or cheaper) for any part of the work needed, they'll refer me as needed. Ted backs all of his work 100%.

I am extremely happy to have found this shop (through this web site). I feel that I have finally found a mechanic that I can trust, who will answer my questions, and who really cares about doing the job right. A trip to Precision Autoworks is unlike any other car repair experience I have ever had. The garage is spotless and doesn't smell of grease and oil, there is a pristine waiting room with internet access for your laptop, and there is even a potted plant in the garage itself! Ted takes the time to explain everything that he has done so that even the mechanically inept can understand and his enthusiasm for his work is obvious. Finding a good mechanic who inspires confidence is like finding a doctor that you like and trust. I feel that I've found this in Ted.

Ted does an outstanding job, both repairing my vehicle and letting me know just what's going on with it. He has a passion for automobiles which is infectious. He has got me exicting about owning and maintaining my car, because he's so into it. In short, he's a great guy, a great mechanic, and loves what he does.

Ted runs a very clean shop. He welcomes the customer into his shop as if it was his home. He is proud of his shop and the work that is done there - as he should be. A great experience all around.

I always use car talk to find good mechanincs when I move to a new city. I recently acquired a '95 BMW 540i V8 6 spd "project car". I had Ted do the pre-purchase survey and all the repair work to get it back road worthy. First off, his shop is clean and organized, just like you would expect a Germancar mechanic to be. He is obviously very passionate about what he does for a living. The total hours and cost were extremely reasonable. He took time to explain everything he worked on and even set all the computer settings (date/time/temp) which I found to be a nice touch. While he had my car, I needed it for family that were visiting out of state. Ted had ordered a new radiator that my BMW needed, but the supplier sent the wrong one. Ted PULLED a radiator out of his own (spare) bmw and put it in mine so I could use my car for the weekend. (Later installed my new radiator gratis). I do not know that many mechanics, much less people in general that would go to such lengths for a customer. He now has a customer for life
