I brought my nissan in to get the timing belt changed, not knowing that it has a timing chain instead, which doesn't need to be maintained. Al explained it to me and apologized that I had to make the trip because the guy who scheduled the appointment for me hadn't known this. Not a problem at all, since he also fixed the extremely annoying buzzer that went off whenever we opened the driver's side door. Did it in the easiest, cheapest way too-- disconnected the buzzer instead of replacing the ignition lock, which was great. Highly reccomend this shop. I went out of my way to go there and am very satisfied.

Best mechanic I've found in this area: Professional, personable, competent, reasonable. Shop stays open until 9pm during the weekdays at the time of the comment.

I can rely on Al to shoot me straight on what is or (more importantly) what is not needed. I'm a very skeptical person and he has proven himself many times by advising against unnecessary work/expenses and taking the time to explain the problem in its entirety. I like Al!

Brand new family owned business, Al Sutherland completed all the repairs I needed on time and under estimate. - Experienced: 20 years in the industry - Patience: He answered any question I had about the repairs. - Didn't do any work not required. - If you don't want to wait they'll give you a ride. - 3 month 3000 mile warrenty. - Open from 6am - 9pm. - Provides excellent coffee while you wait. I took my vehicle in for scheduled repairs that I had put off: brake work, major tune-up, front end alignment, tire- rotation. I'm a tough customer when it comes to my car because I've had such bad experiences with mechanics, this guy passes my test. This is the best car mechanic experience I've ever had. Perhaps it's because he's trying to start a new business or whatever (I don't care) I'm recommending this guy to everyone.

I was in Augusta on business when the oil light came on in my '93 Honda Accord. I called around Augusta, and no one could even look at my car. I called my Brother-in-Law who is a mechanic, and he recommended ACAR. Alton is a Honda specialist, and knew right away what the problem was. (Me being delinquent on my routine maintenance.) Alton not only did a timing belt replacement for me that day, (a big job for anyone who knows Hondas) he also let me observe and explained what he was doing throughout the procedure. He is a true mechanic in the Click and Clack tradition. Don't miss him. I give him two thumbs up.

I was very sick with the flu when I found out my vehicle needed a new airconditioning compressor. The owner and the shop mechanic were kind, efficient and respectful, and it made me feel much better, when I really was quite sick with the flu. I waited in their quiet waiting room and they told me to turn on the TV and make myself comfortable. It was a pleasure to do business with this shop, and I will continue to do so. I have been going to Al's a family run business for years. They have an unbeatable warranty on any work they do. Rod at the front desk will always shoot it straight. I take both of my cars for all repairs. I go to them because they look me in the eye and tell me what needs to be done and stand by their work. I came in for an oil change and when they inspected and found a defective part that they installed they replaced it without question.
