These folks have done good routine maintenance and non- routine repairs on a 90 Jetta diesel and a 92 Passat CL for the last 4.5 years. I'm a very satisfied customer.

I can't speak about their work yet, but I can talk about their integrity. After discussing the problem with the technician (Tom) and discussing the age of my car, he was pretty sure that my warranty would cover this work. Consequently, they sacrificed collecting an easy boat payment and suggested I go to the dealer first! When I need work on my VW, I will definitely go to them. Recommended.

They are always responsive and accommodating. They treat me who is absolutely ignorant about cars with respect and explain things patiently. In a word, they know their stuff and provide not just excellent work but also good customer service, too.

I've brought my 2003 VW Jetta Wagon to WSC only twice now and it feels like I've been going there for years. They're always friendly and personable. I actually *enjoy* going there! Quite the opposite to the dealership where I always seem to have a sneaking suspicion that they're going to sucker punch me. It's so nice to have a competent, established, friendly, honest mechanic nearby as an alternative to the stealership. Close walking distance to Wheaton Metro station. Thanks!

Tom Doyle is an amazing mechanic, diagnostician and business owner! He is THE VW expert. We have a 2000 Passat and started taking it to Tom when we moved to Maryland in 2006. He was the one who finally diagnosed and FIXED a check engine light that had been one for almost 4 years, that no one else had managed to figure out! This meant working backwards and ruling out various other problems with immense amounts of patience. The shop is very welcoming to women. Tom takes the time to explain repairs clearly and NEVER suggests unnecessary repairs. He works very hard to keep costs down and customers' budgets in mind, without sacrificing safety or quality. When we decided to send the car out of state to my parents (they needed a 2nd car) in Indiana, Tom even researched a new mechanic there to make sure my parents could be confident taking it there. THANK YOU TOM!!

I was so pleased when I found a good alternative to the dealership for my Passat. Tom Doyle in the front office is excellent to deal with. He is extremely knowledgeable about VWs, and will work patiently with you to diagnose any problem. He will help you understand how urgent a repair is, and any lower-cost alternatives. He will also coach you on how to approach a dealer on any warranty issues.

I recommend this shop to any VW owner I meet and will continue to do so.

I've always had a positive experience w/ Tom and my Passat. I started going to him for periodic maintenance because he was convenient to the DC Metro (Red Line) with reasonable prices, and stayed because he did good work. I was sold when he discouraged me from paying significant $ to replace a hard to get to temperature sensor because it had a backup that would prevent an overheating problem. He used to provide key drop-off at a related body shop across the street, but can no longer do so for liability reasons, so you cant get there before 7:30 am, the only down side. On the plus side, there's a great Thai take-out right up the street, which covers dinner whenever maintenance day rolls around.
