When my old mechanic's garage changed hands, I needed a new reliable mechanic. Littrell's was recommended to me by close family friends who had been with them for years, so I thought I'd give them a shot. I have been to them three times, and they have been the most accommodating, pleasant people imaginable. If you make special requests, Mr. Littrell will take care of them without a grumble. During my state inspection, I briefly and stupidly considered taking my car home to change something and bring it back the next day just to save $10, and he didn't miss a beat... he lets you do what makes you happy. Although I cannot comment intelligently on the quality of work, I can say that nothing they've fixed has broken, and that they also don't fix things that ain't broke! Some mechanics will put in new brake pads when you get brake work done, and change your air filter every time you turn around, but Littrell's has kept the charges to things that actually needed fixing. I cannot stress enough how nice they are to work with. Every phone conversation is pleasant, and the car sometimes comes back cleaner than I left it (they once neatly folded two rags that had been on my floor). They're out of my way, but I think they're worth it.

Have had this shop work on my four of my vehicles over the past several years, having chosen them on the basis of Angie's List and Consumer Checkbook recommendations. I am confident that they know what they're doing and are not out to rip off the consumer by selling unnecessary services. I can't comment on their pricing, because I've never tried comparing costs between Littrell's and other shops or the dealers for the exact services they've performed on my cars & truck. My experience with Littrell's has been uniformly great, and their customer service (pleasant, responsive, quick turnaround, any problems are fixed the first time) is outstanding.

I'd been looking for a mechanic in the Gaithersburg area for over a year when I found Littrell's as part of a half-off Groupon. I've had very positive experiences there since then. I've had them perform a number of small repairs and one major repair. There was one minor problem after the major repair, which they fixed right away without any additional charge. Although it's not accessible by public transportation, the owner or one of his mechanics will come pick you up. I highly recommend this place.
