My husband and I went to Mr. Cho for all of our automotive work the three years we lived in Maryland. Mr. Cho specializes in Asian make vehicles and at first discouraged us from bringing our two Dodge vehicles to him. I whined about being recently from out-of-state and not knowing of any other local mechanic with a good reputation. Mr. Cho agreed that there were none of good repute who worked on American cars. He took a liking to us and agreed to work on our cars, with a warning that he would send us to a Chrysler dealer for anything complex. When complex problems did arise, he always refused to let us pay him for the time he spent on diagnoses because he knew we would have to pay the dealer a lot for the repair.

Following the recommendation of folks on this site, I took my brakeless 2000 Toyota Echo to Mr. Cho. He was polite and efficent. They were open nice and early for convenient drop-off before work, and called me quickly with an estimate dead-on/slightly-below what I'd heard elsewhere. When they found an additional problem, Mr. Cho called back and carefully explained the extra cost and work. The work was complete within just hours and they gave me a quick word of advice as I headed out, about the over- sensitivity of new brakes. I drove later that night on slick roads and the whole repair worked flawlessly! I highly recommend Cho's and plan to make them my regular mechanics!

I went to Cho's Garage on the recommendation of the web site and was my usual slightly skeptical, slightly upbeat self. I had a simple mufffler replacement problem. They told me an amount and a time estimate for getting the work done. The price went a little over ($15 more), but the estimate had been a hundred dollars less than other general estimates, so I wasn't ruffled in the least. Also, schedule-wise, they finished a little ahead of time. (Although, I was a little delayed in getting back to the shop.) I was quite pleased and walked away feeling I had found a reasonably affordable mechanic that I could trust. Steve Rockville, Maryland

We have a '97 Nissan Altima that had an intake manifold gasket go. The dealer wanted nearly $1000 to do the job. After looking up this website we decided to give Cho's a try. We were amazed. They not only beat the dealer price, they were honest and upfront about the issues that would be encountered resulting in a bit more time. Ever try to get your hand between the intake, injectors and firewall? There's about 3" of space and they did an amazing job. No leaks or issues with it since. I wish more businesses were run like this place.

Brought Lexus GS300 for 90K service. Very complete service, done by the end of the day, all Lexus replacement parts and 1/2 the price of the dealer (returned all used parts). Honest maintenance advice. Strongly recommend.......

Based on this website, I took my Lexus SC300 in for brake work (vibration felt when braking)), to check the A/C condensate drain (moldy smell), change the oil, and to check the plugs which the manufacturer says to change at 60K. Cho resurfaced both front rotors (told me the pads had lots of life left), cleaned out the condensate drain (no charge), pulled a couple of plugs and reported they were fine (no charge), and changed the oil and filter ($22). Total charge $154 for the day. I shutter to think what the Lexus dealer would have charged for this. I'm sending all my friends to these guys!
