Carlos is the second generation of the family owning the shop. They for years have appeared very above board on dealing with customers. I have been given tools (to return later) if the 'fix' did not stay fixed (repairs done on a Friday). They do not advertise that I can tell. Their name gets around by word-of-mouth. On the phone you get handful of alternative to what may be wrong given the symptoms you supply, along with approximate costs per alternative. My father has been a long time user and has grumped only once (a record I believe for my father). One last thing, they are not into much b.s.-ing. I have seen them all but shoo out a customer who was just grief-giving about a repair that he felt was too expensive (and which I thought was more then below the norm). Don't expect to get an appointment the same day you call.

One time, our car unexpectedly quit running one evening about two miles from the garage. When they met us at the car with a tow truck, the car (a Ford Taurus) started up again without any problem. They didn't complain about us wasting their time and they didn't charge us anything.

Carlos has saved me A LOT of money in repairs- both necessary and unnecessary!! I have an old car that I don't feel like replacing since I don't drive very much. I trust them completely!! I've gone to the Beltsville garage several times after being told by other places that I needed certain repairs done to my car. Carlos was totally honest with me about my other "estimates"- almost every single one of them were bogus repairs. The garage tends to be pretty busy so it's sometimes hard to get an appointment. However, they are really good about trying to get my car in as soon as possible. My only complaint is that I moved to VA so the garage is no longer convenient for me to go to- I'm still searching for a replacement...

This is the shop to go to when everyone else gives up on your car (especially if its an old car). 'Knock on wood', so far this place has fixed our 85 Subaru's problems and keeps us driving. Their costs are definitely reasonable. They seem to love a challenge and come through for us every time. A nearby rent-a-car service will pick you up and arrange your rental while your car is being fixed (rental not covered by the garage). It's been our experience that it takes several days to make an appointment, but its always been worth the wait.

I had a very positive experience. They gave me a good price, came in right at their estimate, explained everything to me, and were very obliging in helping me drop off and pick up my car with an awkward schedule.

My son brought our 1994 Aerostar home on night with the wipers working but overshooting the windshield. The motor sounded normal, but the wiper would overshoot and then stop while the motor continued to churn away. I took it to a Ford dealership and after popping off the grill above the motor they called me and said it needed a new motor and with labor would cost $600. I had them go ahead with some other work (fixing the airbag)but told them to not fix the wipers. The next day I took it to Beltsville Garage, told them what had happened at the dealership and asked them to take a look. They called me later at work and said they were replacing a bushing and something else? and and it would be raady by 5 pm for $150. Wipers have worked perfectly ever since. Other times I've been there they have always been fair and honest and once even told me I didn't need any work for a thumping noise, just more air in the tire.

I brought my 02 Hyundai Accent in when it threw a rod and they did a very good job at replacing the engine. It was a little pricey and took some time to get the parts, but thats the nature of my car. They didn't get all the air out of the clutch lines so I brought it back the next morning and they fixed it at no charge. In general I am very pleased with this shop, they have worked on my grandfathers cars, my fathers cars and my car, they have always done a great job even with the oddball cars like my little Accent.

I have had three different vehicles repaired at the Beltsville Garage in the last few months. They have always completed the work when promised, and the cost has been reasonable. They don't try to talk you into having additional work done that you didn't ask to have done.
