The price has always been fair. Work has been great. A lot of people from Domino Sugar get service there because of the word of mouth. Glad to see they hired somebody to answer the phone; that has been my only compliant.

This is a father/son shop which subscribes to the old school ways of doing business. That is to say that they do excellent work for a fair price and they treat the customers politely. If they feel that they can't fix the problem, they'll give you the name of someone who can. It's the only place I've been in years where the parts always cost more than the labor.

These are guys from the old school, honest and hard working. I found them at least 25 years ago. Have seen the son grow up and the father age. They have the strongest work ethic of any mechanic I've seen. They've fixed an air conditioning problem with a 32 cent ring or some such when air conditioning specialist couldn't. They kept old clunkers going for me when I couldn't afford to buy a new car. They've serviced my new cars and kept them like new cars...they do it all and are nice, friendly people. Pay them extra once in a while, bring them donuts. Let them know you appreciate them.

Started going to these guys when my check engine light came on. Every other chain shop in Federal Hill wanted at least $100 just to plug in the computer diagnostic machine. Stopped at Federal Motors to ask what they would charge, they brought the machine right out and checked it for free. Have been back many times and don't have any complaints. The only place in Baltimore I will take my car

Been going to them for at least 15 years, through several cars. The most honest, reliable mechanics I've ever dealt with. Prices are very low for high quality work. Would love it if they opened on Saturdays, but I understand if they don't want to give up their weekends.

I live across town, but gladly drive a bit further to have Chris take care of my car. My driver's side view mirror (just the glass) was smashed, and I was quoted $300+ elsewhere to replace the whole thing. Chris took one look and confidently said they could just order replacement glass and got it done very quickly. There's a lot to be said for honest hard work!

As a female, I always feel uncomfortable taking my car to mechanics because they always try to push unnecessary products on me. I don't know enough to really tell what's needed, but I'll find out later that I could have got something fixed for half the price. I had a flat tire on my Subaru and took it to Federal Motors after I called the dealership and they said I will need to replace all 4 tires because of the AWD system. Chris took a look at it and checked the other 3 tires, and since my car doesn't get a lot of mileage and my tires are in pretty good shape, he assured me that I just needed to replace the one. Great!!!
