I've been taking my family cars (Honda, Nissan, Toyota and my husband's Ford)to Tim at Autothenic for at least 25 years or more. He is completely honest, reliable, friendly and as trustworthy as they come. I tend to drive older cars, and keep them until they disintegrate, so I've had innumerable occasions to use Tim's services. He always finds the most reasonably priced solution to any problem and he, his son Paul and his staff do great work. They make a point to take the time to keep the customer well informed. Appointments are usually available quickly (1 to 3 days or so), and almost always, the work is finished when promised. Years ago when the dealer of my Nissan insisted I needed to invest thousands in a new transmission due to a small noise, Tim tested it and informed me he could fix it with a used one MUCH less expensively, but if the noise didn't bother me, it was perfectly safe to continue to drive as is. I kept that car for many more years, with no transmission problems. "Goofs" have been almost nil, but one time a small part was broken while repairing a door panel. It was pointed out to me, and immediately, a free replacement was ordered. I wouldn't have known about the problem, otherwise. I have referred many friends and relatives to Autothentic over the years, and all have become steady customers. I agree completely with with the comments of "Mary" (reviewer 32882), as her experiences with this gem of a repair shop very closely mirror my own. Signed, Judy, another really loyal customer

When I moved to Wakefield, MA about 10 years ago I needed a mechanic for our old Toyota and Honda. Later we replaced these with 2 identical Subaru Outbacks. Autothentic has done 90% of the work for me on these cars since then. Tim and Paul McCarthy have always provided expert, friendly, fairly priced service. They NEVER perform work that is unnecessary, stand by their quotes, deliver work on time and sometimes pick me up at home after the repairs have been completed! Although Auto-thentic has only serviced Japanese cars for me I'm certain their work on German, Scandanavian, and even American cars is equally good.

Tim and Paul are honest, fair, and friendly. They not only fix the problems with your cars, but also won't fix a part that does not need to be repaired. We have been customers for 25 years and respect their opinions and suggestions. They are very good problem-solvers, and their prices are very reasonable.

Tim and his staff have been servicing our family cars ever since he opened shop. I must agree with all the previous viewers praise of Tim, Paul and the staff. If we have had to use another shop for repair when out of town, it was never done right. We had to have Tim fix it for real. Now we have the car towed back to Tim's shop from wherever the car breaks down - better to tow and fix once! Tim is the honest, reliable, business person who is a pleasure to work with. We continue to drive cars we know he can service. We trust his workmanship.

First off - the following is based on a "one-time" experience: We brought our Pacifica to Tim after another mechanic was unable to diagnose and cure a suspension problem (big loud clunking noise under the drivers feet). Tim found the problem and fixed it for short money ($300 +/-). The previous mechanic was going to start replacing expensive parts while be 95% "sure" he knew what was wrong. I'm sure that that would have cost me in excess of $300....... I will go back to Tim without hesitation.
