I happen to own Audis, which is a very dumb car to own if its off of warranty. Or, actually/probably, it's not the cars that are dumb... Anyway, I've been to other independent mechanics, guys who mostly specialize in German or foreign makes. The experiences will drive even the most even-keeled person nuts. Keeping the car for two-plus weeks; misdiagnosing; terrible communication; all sorts of issues. Nabil at U.S. Auto seems to work on everything -- usually that, to me, means a mechanic works on everything not that well. He was recommended by a friend who had him work on his Mercedes. This guy is fast (actually diagnoses the car and fixes it in a day!), friendly, and the pricing seems decent enough (Audi parts are f'n expensive!). This guy knows what he's doing and gets to it. Highly recommended!
