This family run shop is is now on its third generation of Gills. They are highly experienced and professional. They are capable of working on anything automotive. Customers, both men and women, are treated with respect and patience. Public transportation (bus) is a short walk to Skaket Corners Shopping Center or to Rte. 6A at Main St.

I'm here on the Cape while having a house re-habbed elsewhere. I brought in both a Dodge Pick-up and Jeep Grand Cherokee to have a general check over (who in his right mind would ever do that? - a married man, of course). This is usually an open invitation to make a quick buck. These guys did a complete check, got rid of some rust on the brake drums, changed the oil, and did it exactly when they said they would. All of this for a few bucks. Five stars.

I've had a hard time finding a decent mechanic in the region who doesn't charge high and still delivers sloppy work. I drive older vehicles, but I'm pretty meticulous about their maintenance and upkeep. I paid a lot of money at another Orleans establishment that is highly reviewed on this site, and was very disappointed with the work and the quality of the parts they used. I would name names, but I'm trying to be as discreet as the previous reviewer who apparently had the same experience. I bet I know exactly who he's talking about! I'm very happy with Gill's so far, after three service visits. Looks like a small full service gas station with only a few bays, so I hadn't even considered them, until I read their good reviews here. I was having a hard time getting an older vehicle repaired and inspected, and talked to a lot of mechanics and inspection stations and got a lot of different answers and wildly varying repair estimates. Gill's knowledgeably, quickly, and affordably reviewed, repaired and inspected the vehicle and got me legally and safely back on the road. Since then they've actually talked me out of expensive and apparently unnecessary work others had told me I needed. Apparently they are a third generation service station with very devoted customers. I don't think I've seen the grandfather. The 40-something father is efficient and no-nonsense. The 20-something grandson is very pleasant and welcoming and seems committed to growing and developing the business. I always leave a full set of dealer service manuals in my car when I use an independent mechanic... and I don't think any previous mechanic has ever even cracked them open before... even when it was obvious that they didn't understand my vehicle. So this grandson mechanic got big points on my scorecard, when he remarked that he had noticed and used them, when he had a question on something he was doing on my vehicle. Gill's seems to work on all types of cars-- on my last visit they were pulling a brand new BMW into a bay for something. BONUS- the tiny waiting room/office is stocked with an excellent selection of current car magazines. In fact, I was kind of disappointed they did my last repair so quickly, because I wanted more time to read their magazines!
