When I first moved to Newburyport, I called Ken's Auto Haus because everyone recommended him. Ken said he was busy but that he could recommend Port Shell. I haven't once regretted the referral. Wayne is head mechanic - always make sure it's *him* who works on your car because he is extremely professional and always does a great job. (Some of the other guys mean well but don't know quite what they're doing as much as Wayne does.) When I've had something wrong with my car, he either tells me how he's going to fix it and how much it'll run me, or he fesses up when he thinks he can't fix it and refers me to another garage (typically Tinkham's in Salisbury, another good operation with decent mechanics). If you're interested, Wayne will show you what he's working on. If you're not interested, he's got a nice waiting area. AND - he'll even send someone out to pick you up and bring you back to the shop if you need. All in all, Wayne and Port Shell get a big thumbs up from me. Phone # is 978-462-8451.
