Matt Sousa, the owner, has been a mechanic for Audi, a Bosch regional representative and a long time car mechanic. He is especially gifted at diagnosing and fixing TDIs and other diesels. I brought my 2001 VW Golf TDI in for routine maintenance and to diagnose a loss of power. From the questions Matt asked and the answers he gave to my questions, I immediately knew that I was in the presence of an extremely well-trained and competent mechanic who was as picky about my car as I was and whom I could trust. He explained what he thought was the issue, what might be and what he would do to find and fix the problem. Matt does what he says he'll do in the time frame he says he will do it. He is honest, very personable to deal with, and charges fairly. He's uncommonly competent. He doesn't advertise and the only reason I know about him is because I happened to meet a fellow TDI owner at a local pet supply shop who raved about his work. I certainly will be taking my cars back to his shop when I need work done on them.

I used these guys too, a couple of years ago. They have since split and opened their own places. Matt has a shop in the Beverly area I heard. I still take my Land Rover to Gareth, an English guy who knows his way around my old Range Rover. Gareth moved just a couple doors down. See my review on his new repair shop The European Garage.
