Visited for the first time for a brakes-replacement on a 2003 Honda Pilot after finding them on Mechanics Files. Directed them to comments from a quote I got from a local chain repair shop to check exhaust (chain-shop said replacement needed), repair rattling heat shield (chain said required replacement), tie-rods (chain said both needed replacement)--all in addition to the all-four brakes that needed replacement. New Meadows repaired the brakes (really did need replacement, I already knew) for less than the chain, within one day I got an appointment, they easily repaired the vibrating heat shield (without replacement), and checked the exhaust (was fine). I felt confident in their communication and the friendly spirit in the place (all the guys working smiled, nodded or said hi). I appreciated the good service, fast results and very fair price. I recommend, and I will be going back with my other Honda, too (Accord).

We discovered this shop through the Car Talk mechanics site when we were planning to drive about 200 miles to look at a used car with a "reconditioned" title that had been in a "minor" accident and allegedly had sustained only cosmetic damage and no compromise of the frame. The car looked brand new on the surface, but their most pleasant mechanic, Joe, put the car on the lift and showed us many spots where the frame had obviously been damaged and put back together in a rather haphazard and potentially dangerous manner. Needless to say, we didn't buy the car, and were very grateful to Joe for his expertise and to this site for helping us to find him.

I have always found the owner, Joe Dinan, and his other mechanic, Dave, to be exceptionally honest, pleasant to deal with, and completely competent whenever my 1992 Honda Civic needed repairs or maintenance. I think their level of technical expertise, fair pricing and excellent service are uncommon. I have had my car's brakes, clutch, radiator and other parts replaced and never had a problem with the work. Joe gladly discusses and explains what's needed. I really trust these guys.

I went to this shop because of the great comments I read here on cartalk.com and I completely agree with the rave review! My car was always fixed quickly and competently. When I needed to have my catalyic converter replaced at the last minute so I could renew my inspection, Joe fit me in immediately and even took my car to get the sticker for me. Joe calls when he says he will and is always friendly and patient with questions. New Meadows is absolutely the best mechanic experience I've ever had in my fifteen years of owning cars and I would recommend them to anyone!!

I continue to trust Joe and the mechanics who work for him, though now that I own two VW diesel cars, I take them to someone who is a diesel specialist more often. But Joe has fixed springs, brakes and other things on these cars in splendid fashion. I do feel that his price on parts is a bit high, but considering the great and friendly work he does, it's an insignificant detail. Joe is honest, absolutely knows what he's doing and is extremely personable and helpful.

Joe is knowledgeable, honest, reliable and genuinely nice. He's willing to explain details to those of us who are 'mechanically challenged' and offer options to save money when appropriate. What more could you ask for in a mechanic?? He's a hero.
