These guys know their stuff and never give excuses or B.S. The garage is a mess, but if you want a diagnosis and/or repair done right, go to them. I've been using them for 20 years and have owned all kinds of domestic and foreign cars and trucks. They like vodka and Michelob Lite at Christmas.

these guys get the job done right the first time,are loyal to their longtime customers so be patient if it takes a little bit longer than planned. emissions; alignments;brakes just about all models. honesty rules

This is our first time working with these guys. My husband visited the Car Talk website and got their name from it. We figured we'd give it a whirl and I am glad that we did. These guys have been straight with us from the get go. There have been no surprises and best of all; they have treated me (the wife) as equally as they have my husband. That to me speaks volumes about them. I absolutely recommend them to anyone in the area, especially the new folks.

Mike and Tim were great. My wife's Jeep had an engine problem, that a garage we had been using didn't even notice. They told us it was nothing. We than took it to a dealership to have it checked out,they said we need a new engine. We than took it to Mike and Tim, we did need a new engine, but they did it for half the price the dealership quoted us. They kept us updated with all changes and delivered sooner than anticipated. They havemselves two new customers.

I went to Guilfoyle's off of the rec recommendations on this site. My car had suddenly died on the way home at 3AM the night before. "Fuel pump," I thought.... The tow truck driver said that he takes stuff to them all the time and they always seem really busy (a busy mechanic is a good sign if you ask me). They diagnosed my problem, and then they looked at my car. (just kidding). They ruled out all the obvious ailments, until they deduced that it was the computer unit. They remembered that they just sent a junker just like my car to the junkyard within the last month, and knew that they could find a used computer specific to my car in that junker. They took the time to explain everything to me and didn't make me feel like an idiot. They could just tell that I knew what a "square wave" was when they were explaining the diagnostic tests. It was almost like they were proud that they found the problem. They seemed to love the challenge! Granted, it took several days to get the job done, but like I said, they're very busy. Lots of cars in the yard. They are usually there until 7pm, which is great. Friendly. Reasonable (not necessarily cheap, but definitely not a ripoff) price. I'm really confident in the work that they did. God forbid I have more problems with my car, I would take it to them.

I'll be quick to admit I've known Tim and Mike for 30+ years, so I'm not unbiased, but I'm honest, so here's what you need to know: 1) They will always save any parts swapped out and explain why they needed to...until you get it! 2)They ALWAYS treat females as equal customers, who may need things explained differently, but they will, without a doubt, take the time to do so, with respect!3) If a job takes longer than expected, try to be patient, they always want to do the job right, the FIRST time, and they're reluctant to return a car before THEY are satisfied. 4)IF you're a first time customer and there is a slight delay in your repair, it may be because a longtime, loyal customer needed a quick fix and they somehow managed to address it. Keep in mind that it's the longest running, family owned garage in Fitchburg, and these guys recognize that loyalty works both ways. Above all, they are fair!!!

Have been taking my vehicles and my children's vehicles to Guilfoil's for 30+ years. Always happy with the result.
