I first discovered E & G Automotive when my former vehicle was surging at high speeds, and after I had taken the car to a dealership. They told me it was a carburator problem and it would need rebuilding. Cost - approximately $ 150.00. I decided to think about because of the cost. I was asking various people in my office if they knew any honest mechanics and was referred to E & G. I called them, he said come right ove and he would put a scope on it. I did and he scoped it. The next thing I knew he said it was all set. I asked him if he fixed it and he said yes. I was a bad spark plug wire - cost $ 6.00. It ran fine after that. Honest mechanics are hard to find, but once you find them, stick with them.

They put in a Jasper engine, Jasper shipped them an engine with a plug in the oil return that powers the variable timing in a Mazda implementation. It was taken out, shipped back to Indiana, and returned with the Plug still in (wrong) place. These guys were up front every step of the way. I never felt in the slightest that it was my problem. After the second install, I talked to a Jasper guy, and he gave me BS, he didn't have a clue, and this was in response to a message left with the company president. The E&G guys figured it out, and completed the repair. I just wish they were open other than 8-5 and only 5 days a week, I'll have to get my minor work done elsewhere with my work schedule. I'll still go back to them when I need a real repair.
