This is a small shop situated right beside Fenway Park. I would trust Carmen with my life. He is charmaing, patient, explains everything in detail. He made sure that I got the best value (car is out of warranty) on replairs/parts. They clearly love cars, and love what they do and I really like working with them.

All repairs done promptly and completely. The Dr. explained completely what needed to be done, what should be done for follow-up, and what to watch for. After doing the work the car was road-tested. I have enough driveway mechanic experience to know that all repairs were done correctly. He is a little more expensive than other mechanics I have tried, but I feel that he is worth it.

After being treated like an idiot one too many times by Boston Volkswagon, I found the European Car Dr. Honest, reliable, and trustworthy at a fraction of the dealership's service costs.

I brought my Volkswagen Jetta 1999 to Carmine Vano (the owner and main mechanic of European Car Doctors) to get the 80,000 mile checkup and deal with some recurrent rattling and performance problems; I was referred by a friend, who had recently asked him to preview a used car purchase. First, I believe Carmine is completely trustworthy. He looks out for pieces that may be under warranty, and suggests ways to combine maintenance to decrease labor costs. His labor costs are currently $9 under Minuteman Volkswagen in Bedford ($80 vs. $89), the dealer to whom I entrust my car to warranty-based repairs. The difference is that Carmine takes the time to explain his decisions, test drives the car to look for performance problems that I may miss due to familiarity with my car. I didn't feel he was excessively more expensive than other mechanics, and the trustworthiness more than makes up for $9 an hour. After two weeks of fix attempts, my Jetta's stalling problem is still baffling Carmine - but he recently received another Volkswagen with the same problem that baffled the Volkswagen dealer, so I don't think it's due to Carmine's lack of ability. I will keep doing work with him for as long as I own a European car.

I was referred to this shop by a friend who also owned a Mercedez at the time. I was a long-time customer of Claire, until they screwed up a fix and then insisted on charging me for their mistake. European Car Doctors fixed Claire's mistake for much less than they were trying to charge me. Their shop is located near Fenway Park in the back of a parking lot that looks like a de-militarized zone. If you don't mind a no-frills office and garage and like good, cheap and honest work done on your car that you can trust, you'll love this place! Once they get to know you, they do tend to drop everything to take a look at your car if you're having an unexpected problem. As a regular you'll be treated like their best customer. They are honest about the work that they do and as far as Mercedez Benz automobiles go, they have all the most advanced certificates and knowledge. The owner, Carmen, had a huge write-up in the Boston Globe Magazine as one of the best mechanics in the city. Give 'em a try, you've really got nothing to lose with them.

I own a 1997 Mercedez Benz E420 and had to fix it for the first time. I came to carmen (the owner) to fix a problem in the steering. He was very friendly, professional and did not try to impose unnecessary repairs. After he fixed the problem (replaced both ball joints and stabilizers) he fixed my side miror for no extra cost! The car was out in two hours - and for a reasonable price. I highly recommend him to anyone who has a European car.

I found this place through Cartalk. Carmine has been absolutely great in taking care of my Mercedes E320. He's always taking the time to explain things and does great work. The prices are very reasonable.

I needed repairs done on my 2001 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro sedan - a great car, but expensive to repair. They did an amazing job, were exceptionally nice, priced VERY reasonably, and went out of their way to provide me with incredible service. They also discovered some dented rims, and referred me to a great shop in Waltham. I would highly recommend this shop to everyone and anyone!
