Dan's father teaches auto mechanics at Shawsheen Vocational. His mother runs the front office. His mechanics are all young, nice, polite kids who do good work. Call ahead for an appointment.

This is a two bay shop. The owner is a conscientous, hard working stiff - so much so that he's been stiffed himself a couple of times. Good hard working helper also. Good neighborhood with body shop located in same building with access between the two. Service station (gas, oil etc.) located in same building but not part of repair or body shops. Shop is orderly and clean.

I can't say enough good things about this shop. You won't find a more honest, reliable mechanic anywhere. Dan's been working on my family's cars for years, and he has saved us money whenever possible -- seriously -- and does a great job every time. I don't live in Billerica anymore, but I just had him look at my Nissan after the dealership told me it needed about $1,000 in repairs, which I highly doubted. Dan took a look and told me it shouldn't need that work for another 10,000 miles -- and he didn't charge me a dime.

I guess the good news is that I don't have anything else to say - no amusing anecdotes of "when things went wrong". My experience with Dan and his crew are that I make the appointment, I drop off the car, they call me if they have questions or to verify that I want certain work done, then I go pick up the vehicle and the work was done, and done right. End of story.

I've been going to Dan's for at least 30 years, but the frequency decreased as I started owning Toyotas. They were actually located in a little stone garage on Middlesex Turnpike when I started with them and Dan's Dad ran the business at that time. They are wonderful to work with, efficient, conscientious, truthful and personable. I recommend them frequently to people frustrated with their present situation and always get favorable, positive feedback once they experience Dan's level of service.

Used to go to Dan's Auto when I lived in Billerica. Have always had very positive experience working with them. They explain what is wrong with the car, what my options were and let me to choose one that fit my needs (i.e How long I wanted to keep the car, my budget etc). I have since moved out of the area but still go there for "big" items or nagging things that other mechanics are unable to diagnose/fix. Highly recommended. Haven't been there lately but the younger Dan (not the owner) used to be my preferred mechanic (knowledgeable, easy to communicate and work with).
