Okay, so here's the deal with this shop: Pluses: They are extremely customer oriented. They have a great waiting area, with free computers, free food, TV, wireless internet, it makes the time pass quickly. Minuses: They are extremely busy. This means that sometimes stuff slips by. This is especially true with routine service or routine maintenance work - on more than one occasion, other shops have caught stuff that they should have caught on the first time around. So, they are competent, but not thorough, in their work.

This shop had been doing all my maintenance since my car was new, and now it has 40K miles. Responded to a coupon for a $40 "multipoint inspection". Later learned this was a scam, the same "inspection" comes with an oil change. They did not even check brakes, or other fluids, or any safety checks. I brought in my own oil to stay with Mobile1 synthetic. They would not change my wipers because the arms were not original equipment. 8,000 miles later, I get a noise at highway speed, and when turning. Close to the shop, I pull in, but they are too busy to help me that day. They say I must pay a 1HR diagnostic fee. I make an appt. for the next day. At the Honda Owners web site, I learn this is probably the differential fluid they never checked. Next day, I tell them Before I waste $100 on a diagnostic fee, I want the fluid changed, as this solves the noise for everyone on the owner's web site. They offer a test drive because they can tell if the fluid needs changing (why not share this info upfront???). Yes, they say this cornering noise is from old fluid. I authorize the $200 labor to change fluid, max 30 minutes work in my estimation, on the condition they guarantee their work will fix the noise. They refuse to guarantee their work!!! I told them I will do it myself if I want unguaranteed work, so they sell me the fluid for $25. It took me 20 minutes, including burnishing, and the turning noise was instantly gone, even before the burnishing. However, On the highway, I still had a noise. I stop and notice one wheel is much hotter than the others. How did they miss this on their test drive? Any rookie mechanic will catch a dragging brake. I call for an estimate, but again with the diagnostic fees. I checked it myself, and found the caliper was not retracting even after cleaning and lubing. Replaced the Caliper - the whole process including runs to the parts store (Honda was closed on Sunday) took 70 me minutes. Now everything is perfect, no thanks whatsoever to Lundgren Honda. I really wish I could find a shop I can trust because I do not want to do my own maintenance work. I only do it because I cannot trust the shops.
