Completely agree with all the positive comments about this shop! Am so thankful to have found them--really can't imagine talk our cars (3 Volvos and an Explorer) anywhere else--I know they do the best work and really try to keep costs down. I highly recommend them to all my friends.

The owner,Dave George, not only spends time with customers explaining necessary repairs, he also tries to work around costly "dealer" parts. Will gladly use parts purchased elsewhere by the customer, or send parts home for customer to try out on own. He is the most honest mechanic I have ever met. And he has recently expanded his already very busy garage by opening a complete body shop service. One stop shopping for my auto needs!

I have been an import mechanic for 20 years and had worked at all sorts of import/speciality shops, and in short, they were all bad for my Karma. Next to a persons house and medical cares, the car is the next important thing on a persons list. I did not feel good about taking care/money by most other-owners (under)hands . When I met Dave George (he started at a Goodyear and had to get away too) I knew a Kindered Spirit. I am now an ex-Volksdoktor mechanic (I can still remember him showing me where he will be pouring my own new bays). I still know any need I or anyone I refer will be handled compentently by Dave and his bretherned. He is a friend to all persons.

Now that I have moved away from Louisville I am very nervous about finding a place as good as Volksdoktor. I just recently started going to them after a bad experience at another shop. It is truly a shame that as soon as I find them I end up moving away. They always explain the problem to me and answer any questions I have. I was very impressed that after not visiting there in about 2 months the actual mechanic who had worked on my car before remembered the car when I brought it back in. I'm not sure if they are more expensive than other shops. However, I don't mind paying more if I feel I'm getting good service and honest explanations. In the future I will try to coordinate my visits back to Louisville with my schedule maintenance on my car.

David George and his band of merry mechanics are the best! They have known me for 20 years and through 6 cars. David has a memory like an elephant; it's incredible what he remembers about each of my cars. The guys are honest, fair in price, and have treated me and each of my vehicles with great consideration. I love doing business with them and recommend them heartily!

I took my daughter's car in for a severe oil leak, bracing myself for a bill in the hundreds of dollars. I'm a woman who doesn't know squat about cars, and it would have been easy to bilk me, but it turned out the repair was minor and cost only around $80. At no time did I feel like I was talked down to, and no one stared at me as though I was an intruder in the man cave, as has happened in other shops.

Simply put, these guys don't miss on their diagnosis. They figure out what's wrong, and they get it right. They understand VW TDI's, and have gotten me back on the road quickly. I am very comfortable recommending them.

Took my '07 Odyssey in for checkup, oil change, tune-up and to get it ready for a 2500 mile road trip. They were easy to work with, did everything the van needed, were very polite, and the price was very reasonable. Would recommend them for sure.
