I usually don't take my car to a shop for repairs because usually I have found them to be as dishonest as a car dealership. But, I bought my sister a used Mazda and needed to have the timing belt replaced, something I would not attempt on my own. A friend of mine highly recommended this place. So, I called and got an estimate. I took the car in and they had it done that afternoon. In fact, I wasn't off from work yet to go w/my sister to pick it up. So my sister went by herself reluctantly. She hates these places because of the way she was treated. She was very impressed with how she was treated when she picked it up. They were very friendly to her. She had a couple questions about the car since it was new to her and they were very helpful in answering her questions. My sister lives an hour away in Topeka. But, this is the only shop that she would want to work on her car. A couple months later, the parking lights and dash lights on my car quit working. So, I checked the fuses and so forth and came up empty. I called Dan, and got an appointment for him to fix it. I also asked him to tune it up while it was in the shop. It turned out that the plastic plug that clips the wires to the light switch melted to the switch. Dan had the car ready the next day. The car never ran better from the tune up and the lights work. Dan is maybe on the high side. But, I may be saying that since I'm not used to putting my car in the shop. But, I will pay almost any price if I know the mechanic is honest, fair, freindly, and I don't have to kill my back hunched over the engine compartment. I highly recommend Don Freely's Auto Clinic.

Dan, the owner of Don Freely Auto Clinic, and his mechanics are simply the best at fixing your car, whatever your car or the problem may be. I've been going to this shop for the past 3 or so years and I've brought them 3 different cars to fix/maintain. My friend I referred to this shop reports similar very positive experiences. Dan's shop charges on the high side, BUT I HAVE ALMOST ALWAYS FOUND THIS TO BE MONEY WELL SPENT at this shop because Dan's as honest and his mechanics are as knowledgeable as they come. And this approach has almost always SAVED ME MONEY IN THE LONG RUN. I believe it has saved me an immense amount of stress and avoided a lot of down time of my cars as well. His employees seem to be really happy, polite, intelligent, alert and very competent. This is important to me in general anyway, I won't deal with any shop that doesn't value their employees, but I especially want them to be well cared for when they are working on MY car when MY family's safety is going to be riding on THEIR work. You could probably eat off of just about any surface in Dan's shop. Their work is usually done right the first time. And if there is a problem with their work, nobody's perfect, but they come close here, they don't give up till they fix it for good and they make sure you aren't charged for unnecessary parts. Besides all this, they are just a great group of people. Here's one quick story. One time I called Dan apprehensive that I needed a new transmission. It sure acted like it did and I was preparing to accept that fate. I called Dan and described the symtoms. He said it sure might be bad news but he wanted to check on a quirk he knew of with that particular transmission. I brought it over, Dan popped the hood, took a quick look and said: "(MY NAME), this is your lucky day!" Cost that time: 5 minutes of my time and $5.00 out of my pocket. Yes I was lucky that day, but it was so because I went to Dan's shop ... I mean, try going to a Dealor or a Transmission Specialist or any mechanic/shop and walking away only paying $5.00 and having your problem fixed in minutes! It's times like this when you realize the more expensive repairs you have had to have made at Dan's could have been even much more expensive if you had taken your car somewhere other than Don Freely's Auto Clinic. They are very good at what they do here and it's always been time and money well spent for me. And they are all so polite and so very professional as well.
