My old pet car, 1985 BMW 735i, had a big problem while I was in Lawrence, approx. 3 hours from my home and 3 hours from my wonderful mechanics who are in Wichita, Kansas. I called late on a Saturday afternoon and Rich came over to the parking lot where I was stranded to check out my car which had lost all ability to shift gears. He checked it out to see if fluids were low, etc. and then connected something underneath so that I could drive it to the station. He gave me a ride to a friend's house where I was staying and later on that evening called to tell me that a cable was broken and would have to be ordered on Monday. I do have my car back now and it is working fine, but I was so well treated when they could have just said they couldn't help me and be done with it since I am from out of town and not likely to return for other service. The guys at the Westside 66, especially Rich or Richard deserve high marks for treating strangers so well and solving my car's problem AND NOT CHARGING AN ARM AND A LEG. Especially because I am not a cute young chick, just another one of those invisible middle aged women with a sentimental attachment to an old car.

Richard is easily one of the best mechanics in the area. He is reasonable, intelligent, funny, and more than competent. I would and have sent anyone to him for work. We live in Kansas City now, and want to move back to Lawrence someday so that we're closer to Richard and Westside. The most trustworthy mechanic ever.

Rich and his crew have consistently gone above and beyond the call of duty for us! He is always friendly, extremely fair, and honest. I would highly recommend Westside 66. We are such big fans of Rich and Westside that if we are out of town and need gas, we will only put enough gas in to get us back to town so that we can fill up at Westside. You will never find a more knowledgeable mechanic or a man with a bigger heart anywhere!

Westside has fixed cars for my family for over 15 years. They are honest, competent and are not sexist. It is a pleasure doing business with someone you can trust.

I am always impressed by the knowledge of the guys and the honesty and friendliness. They do not try to be cheapest - but you can count on them.

Richard and crew are the absolute best. They are timly and accurate. When I ask how much do I owe for a small problem, I hear " I'll catch up with you next time". Their prices are fair. They are none but the best!

I'm absolutely convinced that Richard Haig, the owner, is *the* last honest mechanic on the face of the earth -- or at least in this part of the midwest. I've happily recommended Westside 66 to friends, folks new to town, and family. Richard has worked on my cars for years, my kids cars, my nieces and nephews, and even my boss. He's won "Best of Lawrence" multiple times -- for good reason. He's the best ...

My friends and family have used Westside for over 20 years. I've recommended College kids needing their cars worked on go to Richard Haig and the folks, and the kids have always been well taken care of. When my father-in-law died, my mother-in-law started using Westside, and they've been wonderful to her. My son and daughter-in-law had their car TOWED to Lawrence from KC just to have Westside fix it, and they were very happy to do it! I trust them fully!
