I bought a 1993 Nissan hardbody without power steering since it was cheap and in great shape with just 60k on the clock. A Nissan dealer quoted me $1700 for the parts alone, but they did it--parts and labour--for $650.

A few years ago I took my volvo to Beaus to have the overdrive worked on. The car had to stay there overnight. When I went to pick the car up after the work was done, it had obviously been driven on a gravel road (it was covered with road dust) AND been in a minor accident (It had a dented fender and was missing a wheel cover). Beau himself said the only possible explanation was that I must have come when they were closed, taken my car and crashed it, then brought it back before they opened in the morning!!! I told him how ridiculous that was and asked him how he was going to make it right. Although he refused to take responsibility for the fact that my car had been damaged while in his care, he let me take the car without charging me for the repair. It seemed clear to me that someone in Beau's employ had taken my car for a joy ride because it hadn't been broken into, it had been operated with the key. I'll let readers draw their own conclusions but for my part I would have to say that Beau could be God's very gift to the automobile, and work for free, and I would still NEVER take my car to him again!
