J&M isn't the spiffiest shop in town, but the garage has been in business for years, and pleases its customers. Owner Jim VanCamp is honest, knowledgable, friendly, and willing to go the extra mile to get things done right. I have owned a collection of hopeless vehicles -- old Volvos, Chevy trucks, Toyotas, etc. -- and the shop treats them equally well. The downtown location makes it a favorite of professionals who expect high quality service at reasonable rates...also, of anyone who wants his/her car fixed right.

When my ol trust mechanic sold his business I was lost... who to trust? After decent but pricey service at George's Forest Park I stumbled upon J&M in downtown Fort Wayne. This two-man operation may not be much to look at but they know their stuff, they do it well, and they do it for an honest price. Once they didn't charge me because it took just a few minutes to fix and another time it was a mere $20 when they could have hosed me and I would have been none-the-wiser.
