I first went to them when I was told I had a cracked manifold and should spend 600 dollars to get it fixed. They said they weren't sure there was a crack and I didn't need to worry - so far 12000 miles later they are right. When I took the car in before 3 weeks of long distance driving they checked the car and told me everything looked fine - no attempt to get me to do work that wasn't necessary. Trips went great. Next... car started idleing when I stoped and stuttering when I started. Finally got around to taking it in...plus the oil needed changing (10,000 miles since last change). Changed the oil, found my choke was hanging up and everything was fixed. I walked out with a bill for 28 dollars. I trust these folks. As a woman they don't seem to see me as an easy mark and my 89 car has never run better.

Car was barely running when I took it in. I had no idea what was wrong. They cleaned out the EGR valve and got the car running pretty well, but could not find the cause of an intermittent hesitation. Refused to charge me at all. I insisted until they took $49. They are the sixth mechanic who has been unable to identify the cause of the intermittent hesitation over the last several months, so it obviously is an extremely difficult problem to diagnose. The people at Nygaards were extremely courteous and conscientious, which is rare. They are competent mechanics who fixed the more serious problem. I am very pleased and do not hesitate to recommend them.

My husband and I started taking our car to Nygaard after I discovered their name on this site. Their estimates were always reasonable and the actual cost was never more than the estimate. The other great thing about them is they consistently got the job done within a day. Fabulous folks who provide great service at reasonable prices.
