Mr. Lichti is very, very honest and reasonably priced. (We take our Honda & Toyota to him, and my mother-in-law has taken her VW Vanagons to him for decades. He is known for repairing VW's, but judging from the cars outside his shop, he seems to fix most any foreign car.) Once I had an estimate from a dealership for work they said my car needed, and I had Mr. Lichti check to see if these repairs were actually necessary and appropriately estimated. He couldn't believe what their estimate said, and he told us he wouldn't be able to sleep at night if he had quoted all the items that this dealer was saying we needed repaired. This repair shop is located in an industrial park right beside railroad tracks. However, my husband and I have NEVER had any problems with vandalism there, and we have always dropped our car off the night before and picked it up after-hours the next night. One thing to remember is to specify everything you want him to check or repair. He will not do any work you don't ask him to do (which can be a wonderful relief when compared to how some dealerships try to fix things that you didn't request and you end up with an unexpectedly high bill).
