My whole family - and a number of our friends - have been going to see Peter B about all of our car repair needs for over 20 years. Their work is all of top-notch quality, and they do the right thing the first time. We totally and completely trust them; we just go to them whenever we have a probelem, and trust them to take care of whatever needs to be done. They've covered for us a number of times with problems right before we've left town, or spending time to shop around for the best price on some special order part that we needed. They always give honest advice and perform honest repairs. All of my family - as well as the friends that we've referred to them - would reccomend them in a second. Peter B still works there - he's the owner - and he's always glad to come in from the shop to explain what went wrong, what they did, other signs of trouble, etc. They test-drive vehicles anytime there is a problem that necessitates it. They're not cheap, but not expensive either. Their prices are exteremely reasonable for the caliber of service that you receive.

I used to do most of my own car repairs (~25 years ago, when cars were easier to work on and I had less $), so I have some familiarity with car repair. Peter (owner) is particularly adept at correctly assessing the problem, then making the appropriate repairs, something many auto repair shops only do moderately well (particularly the correct assessment function). He has never recommended unnecessary or inapproriate repairs. A couple of times (out of the 20+ times I have gone to his shop), I did not fully agree with his assessment. Both times I was incorrect. He is the best in the area, in my opinion.

I was told that they work on foreign cars and I have a somewhat rare old BMW. They were trustworthy and generally got the problem fixed in a timely manner.

I've been taking my car to Peter B's for the years I've been in town with a car (about 6). Peter B's has earned my trust. My perception is that they are not the cheapest in town, but on the other hand I've received good service. So I'll pay a little extra for that piece of mind. Peter will ride with you to make sure the problem is fixed and they've taken the car back and looked at it again for free the next day if the problem isn't fixed. I don't think they've ever ripped me off for service I didn't need (hard to say for sure since I'm a blissfully unaware car owner). The real problem is their wait time. It can be ridiculous, 2-3 weeks sometimes. For the type of slow moving issues I typically encounter, this is not a big deal. But if I have a serious problem that needs repair *now,* I can't really take it to Peter B's. Which is too bad, because those are just the type of issues I'd like someone I trust to work on!

Peter is very knowledgeable, competent and honest. I used to do much of my own repair work (BC - before computers in cars), so I have some familiarity with the subject. Other than oil changes which I do, I've taken my cars there (Mazda, Toyota and a Plymouth) for repair numerous times. I keep my cars until they drop from old age, so as one would expect, as the car ages it needs to spend more time in the shop. Each and every time, Peter B's have made the appropriate and minimal repairs required and the repairs they made fixed the problem. Their prices ($/hr) are higher than the discount places, but they do not try to sell you unneeded repairs/maintenance services. Most importantly, Peter B's has fully trained mechanics, rather than untrained oil change, filter and tire rotation monkeys.

They do a great job and are very accurate and honest. Have been getting my car serviced there for 25+ years.

I used to take my cars to Peter B's, and, at first, they were nice, fair, and pretty honest. But then all of a sudden, they would lump on repairs I didn't authorize and charge really unreasonable rates for simple things. Also, the mechanics would complain about my old cars on the invoice for crying out loud. Whenever I would call or visit to complain, I would always get excuses like, "Well, those comments were meant only for internal use and they were not supposed to be on your copy of the invoice," and, my favorite, when I tried to get a discount on my bill because of numerous unauthorized repair charges, Peter himself told me, "Well, that's the best deal I can give on those jobs," yeah jobs I wasn't asked about and they just took it upon themselves to do! Whatever, Peter, I haven't taken any more cars to you and I don't intend to ever again!
