While out of town, my older always-reliable Toyota suddenly refused to start and was stranded in Urbana, IL. The local Toyota dealership had it for almost two weeks never was able to diagnose the problem. I gave up & towed it to PDR. They found the problem in about an hour. Plastic pickup coils inside the distributor were cracked/broken. It would "kind-of" fire, but way off time and very erratic. I needed a re-built distributor. PDR was happy to install a distributor I found on Internet and had shipped directly to them. Now, my only problem is that since the car was stranded 90 miles away from where I live, I can't use them more often. If I lived closer to them I wouldn't consider anywhere else. Best I've ever seen . . . . .and I'm a gear-head from way-back.

PDR has helped me in several crummy situations with my Ford Focus, from fixing a faulty ignition cylinder to re-attaching my side mirror (which isn't something they normally do since they're not a body shop, but they went out of their way for me). I've recommended them to several friends and all of them have had positive results. They're fast, charge a reasonable amount of money, and are very nice.

I have used PDR a couple of times for my truck. Once for a timing belt and tensioner replacement, and second for ball joints. In each case, I was impressed with the speed, quality and price of the work. Both times I was offered a ride to work while they worked on the truck. They are also on a bus route, so returning only involves making the right connections. The hours are also reasonable. If you work normal hours, you can easily get your car worked on without losing time. I would not hesitate to recommend these guys for most anything automotive.

Here's some of the work they've done for me. They've replaced my alternator belt several times because each time they'd replace it, it would start squealing soon thereafter. I'm going to a better shop now and the better shop just tightened up the belt that was on it. It hasn't squealed since and was way cheaper than having the belt replaced. My Air Conditioner had a leak they couldn't find. My current mechanic found it and fixed it. Now I don't have to get my AC refilled every year. But the worst is that a few years ago my exhaust system was shot, and they said they replaced it. This cost me about $1,000. Then just a week ago, the exhaust system got really loud again. A new exhaust system should last more than a few years. My current mechanic said that it had not been replaced--it had been patched. They recommended I take my car to a brake shop instead of getting a new exhaust system that would cost half of what my cheap used car's worth. The brake shop patched my exhaust system up for $60.
