The shop's owner, Scott Walsh, is extremely knowledgeable about all makes and models. He insists that all his mechanics receive regular training. He is scrupulously honest. Early on I took a car there for service, and picked it up in the lot after closing hours. When I got it home I noticed a dent in the passenger side door. I called Scott the next day and told him. He never questioned me. He asked be to bring it back in. He had the door fixed at a body shop and then had the car detailed. When I got it back it looked like it had just been driven off the showroom floor, even though it had 90,000 miles on it. He didn't charge me a dime. I've been a loyal customer ever since. Not the cheapest shop around, but you get what you pay for and in the long run it's much cheaper to take a car to a competent and honest shop in the first place. The shop is clean and neat, and his staff are all friendly and knowledgeable, and proud of their work. The waiting area is clean and bright. It's a mom and pop place -- his wife handles the front desk. Most of his customers are long-termers, and most of his new business comes from word-of-mouth recommendations by his old customers. When I moved to the area and first went to Rockdale Automotive I had an inkling I was at a good place when I saw several sheriff's squad cars in the parking lot for service.
