Ever wish you could have Click and Clack work on your car? This is the Midwest equivalent. Mitch is an honest, smart, patient mechanic. (Even my mother-in-law likes him!) He always takes the time to sit down and explain the repair process in great detail, the steps he used to fix the problem (when appropriate, he always goes for the inexpensive fix first), and gives your car a once-over to recommend fixing other little problems which might become bigger issues later on. For example, when I first moved into this neighborhood I took my car to another mechanic for a clicking sound coming from my engine. I got a call 20 minutes later and was told he needed to replace the engine - ($1800)! I took it to Mitch on a whim, and he sat down with me and methodically explained the options to fix the engine. We went with a series of fixes which came out to about $350; no clicking. Now, 30,000 miles later, I'm still driving it. I always allow for about 30 minutes to go pick up my car, because I know after we finish talking about the car, we'll be talking about music or sports or our families. I cannot recommend him highly enough. After 20 years of feeling like I may have been ripped off from other mechanics, it is rare to find someone of Mitch's caliber who is so honest and efficient at fixing car problems.
