I recently took my 2004 Audi A6 to J&R Auto Repair for two repairs. My car needed a new oxygen sensor and I needed advice and help with a ticking sound that was coming from the engine. Regarding the ticking sound, the folks at the local Audi dealer thought I needed a new camshaft, but weren't sure. They asked me to approve at least a couple more hours of diagnostic time at $130/hour. I told them thanks, but no thanks. At 97,000 miles, the car is well worn. When I came to J&R, what I was looking for was some reliable help to do some potentially tough, and realistically expensive repairs. I would typically have this kind of work done at a dealership, but after doubling over from the Audi quote (that assumed I needed a new camshaft),I decided to give J&R Auto Repair a try. I am happy with that decision. Turns out the car did in fact need a camshaft replacement. Both the cam and sensor repairs were done timely. The sensor replacement work was done same day, the camshaft work was done next day. The price quotes for both jobs were below Audi dealership quotes. The shop owner, Daryl Nelson, called me at home to make sure that I was satisfied with the repairs. Needless to say, I was. I'm amazed there aren't more satisfied customer comments about this shop on this board. My guess is that customers either don't like to write, use other boards, or take great service for granted. I certainly don't. Thank you!
