A father and son team that provide honest, friendly, professional service and advice (the advice is free). They consistently go the extra mile on repairs and are not afraid to advise you that a repair that you think you need is a waste of their time and your money if it's something you don't need. Their approach is best described as taking your car to a family member or close friend. They aren't out to gouge you for unnecessary repairs and you can feel confident when they advise you a repair is needed, it is truly needed. I had a 92 Grand Caravan with 161K miles that had a leaky transmission. This would be a "cash cow" to many garages. Jim advised me not to throw any more money at a vehicle that was on it's last legs as he felt the transmission definitely needed to be replaced. He offered to do the work if I insisted but I listened to his advice and am truly glad I did. This is just one instance among many where his advice has saved me time, trouble, and money. If you are looking for a great job at a fair price and to be dealt with openly and honestly, Jim's is definitely the place.

First, the address you list for Jim's Auto Repair is not current. Their current correct address is: 561 West Country Ln., Collinsville, IL 62234. I had a broken front wheel bearing, which they fixed. They also told me about a possible worn bearing in the transaxle, which, if so, would cost far more to fix than the car is worth. They fussed over my problems, were honest, competent, and ended up charging me LESS than the estimate. This is a family business that cares about the cars and their customers.
