Bob is one of those salt of the earth types. He just tells it like it is and is a hard working mechanic. His prices are reasonable and he will explain what must be done. Several times he has done a small repair or explained that I must take a vehicle to a specialist and not even charged for it.

i must say that the first time i went to bobs i was concerned only because my dad always told me a dirty and unorganized shop meant shoddy work. well dad was wrong in this case bob is a wonderful mechanic.hes old school and knows everything about all cars.he built racecars for years and is a legend in this area.thank you bob for you honesty and quality work.

Everytime I go in there I wonder how he gets anything done as 50% of the population over 80 seems to be in there looking over his shoulder or sitting on an old bus seat watching him work. Occasionally a little old lady may be in there wondering what that noise is in her car, and I marvel at Bob's patience and willingness to listen when I know he must wonder how he's ever going to finish the work he has all over the place. However, he's the kind of guy my folks used to talk about who probably sees his job as a mission in life. If we were all like Bob, we probably wouldn't be fighting wars or worrying about getting "ripped off"! He once told me (when I needed a new battery) that he could put one in for me but that if I wanted to shop around I could probably get one cheaper at WalMart! Can you believe that? I told him I didn't care what he charged me, I wanted him to put one in and charge me a price whereby he could make sure he makes a bit of money off it. Who needs WalMart when you've got guys like Bob around?

First off, I like me some Bob. He's a great wrench turner and a nicer guy. I've even become good friends with his son Mike. I will state he worked on my cars before I'd met his kid. Also, it's in PELLA IA, not this Lake Prairie whatever. He's fixed a fuel pump in my Dodge Dakota, (The in-tank variety) replaced a transmission on my ex-wife's oldsmobile, tuned the carb in my Chevy pickup, replaced a radiator in same at a later date, fixed a pass. side electric window in my Mother's mini-van, ('96 Aerostar) and not only helped us find a competent body repair shop after our 2009 Ford f-350 tangled with a deer, he did the remaining engine work quickly and fairly. Also a little known fact: He's pretty sharp with tractors and Hi-performance racing engines. Yeah his shop is cluttered, but not in a bad way. It kinda reminds you of yer Dad's old mechanic's shop he used to go to, if you know what I mean. Nothing fancy or pretentious by any means, just good honest work and advice from a good honest person.
