Glen used to work at Tony Honda for a long time in their service department before he went out on his own about 3 years ago. He is very trustworthy and honest, and very competent. He is also extremely conscientious. He favors working with Hondas and Toyotas, although he does work on other vehicles. As he has worked on my last 2 Hondas, I can vouch for his work on Hondas. Glen has also worked on my wife's Toyota, and I think I can vouch for him on working on Toyotas also. Although Glen's shop is in an old section of Kalihi, and the surroundings don't look like the large dealer service departments, he comes through on service. Practically all of his business has been word of mouth from satisfied customers. I myself have referred a few customers, being a referral myself. Glen is "peace of mind" when it comes to maintaining the operation of my car!

I did not actually get my car serviced by him but I think he is a really good mechanic! He gave me very good advice on buying a car and gave me some of his quotes. I had a long talk with him on the phone and he seemed shocked. Glen's Auto Service, is a one man shop which means he services cars and does the invoices of all the cars he fixes. Glen was originally a mechanic for Honda but decided to have his own shop that he founded 5-6 years ago. Glen told me all this and a real education on cars. He certainly gained my respect. He seemed really surpised he was on cartalk.com because Glen does not do any advertisement. Anyways, the reason I called was because I wanted to ask to get a 1999 HOnda Civic EX that has been in a small crash. He told me straight up not to buy this car and gave me a small education on why. Basically, cars in wrecks have unknown problems and also, he questioned the seller of the car..and the seller of the car was indeed questionable. I really believe Glen takes pride in his work. He spent 10 minutes on the phone with me just to give me advise, and he doesnt even know me, hes alse a ASE certified Technician that gives competitive prices. (I asked for a comprehensive 600 point inspection for future cars) He also told me whats cars he wouldn't work on e.g. Fords, because when he did service Fords, and the problem was fixed, other problems would of arised(not because of Glen but because there were simply other problems), so Glen does not like his customers to think he intentionally makes other problems with the cars. **Oh!!, also Glen does not use CHEAP PARTS would break down sooner, Glen uses originallal new stock parts unless other wize stated. After Glen services any car, he shows you the parts he replaced and give you a little education on what he did with it.

Took my 95 Avalon to Glen on the recommendation found on your site for it's midlife (100k) physical. Glen's shop is not a showroom though he has the necessary stuff get the job done. He examined the car in detail and called with his estimate. Leaks were tackled, hoses and belts changed and plugs too. To get the car back to me quickly, he returned to work on it in the evening. He seemed very patient with me, showing me all of the replaced components. All the parts he used were genuine. In the end, he presented me with a four page typed invoice and took my credit card. While not inexpensive, I'll guess I saved at least 1/4 of what the dealer would have charged and got the car back quicker too. He'll be my mechanic from now on.
